Default Anatomy of a Reading with Erin

My biggest lessons from getting readings with Erin:

1. Do have a list of questions in advance. In my case, about 50% of my questions were answered *without* having to ask. But to make the best use of your reading, you will want to think through what you want to know, in specific detail.

2. Don't be afraid to ask for more detail or clarification along the way. If your guides don't have any more to say or do not with to tell you something, they will say so. Accept that when it comes, but don't be afraid to ask in the first place.

3. Don't be afraid to ask any question, even if you think it's a dumb one. The answer might surprise you, and every tidbit of clarity you can might help.

4. Get a full hour reading. It gives you the chance to ask about a number of areas in specific detail. It's also the best bang for your buck.

5. Erin's readings are very worthwhile. She's not cheap, but you get a combination of someone who is very intuitive, and also very knowledgeable, with lots of personal experience. This makes her very good at interpreting what your guides are saying, and she combines her own experience with her intuition to give you advice that you can act on. In my 2 readings, she has generally focused on the positives and the actions that I can take.

6. Take notes as you go, because you will want to refer back later. A lot happens during a reading, more than you think.

7. The meaning of everything Erin says will not necessarily be clear during the reading. Erin will also revise and refine what she says as the reading progresses. She initially told me that my guides were advising me to be cautious. She later clarified that my guides were noticing that I was being cautious. A reading is not necessarily long enough that it will make perfect sense or even achieve 100% internal consistency, and that's why I prefer the 1 hour length so that you can clarify as many things as possible. But, do ask enough questions about your big priority areas so that you do get clarity.

Yesterday evening I got my second ever intuitive reading with Erin Pavlina. I feel the urge to share some of my experience with everyone here on the forums, particularly those who might be contemplating a reading but haven't yet taken the plunge.

I'm going to be quite open about my experience because I really want to share and shed light on how these readings work (insofar as I understand them).

Even a few hours before my reading, I was feeling nervous in anticipation. I wasn't quite sure what would come, or the implications of what I'd hear. The whole day at work, I had a Word file open where I maintained a question list for the reading. Continuously adding to this list, it probably contained about 30-40 questions by the time of my reading.

About 15 minutes before the reading, I closed my office door and started doing deep breaths and imagining that my guides were going to convey some very important messages and give me as much information as they could. A minute or two before the phone rang, with my eyes closed, I could sense Erin's presence, as though she was connecting to me...

The phone rang, and I answered "Hi, Erin". Erin began with telling me that was going to provide me with a metaphor, and image from my guides. The line went silent for 3 or 4 minutes. When she returned, Erin gave me the image of the beginning of an episode of the Twilight Zone, and a swirling vortex. It was supposed to represent a pivotal point in my life, where it was a bit of a mystery what was going to happen next, but my guides were eagerly awaiting my action.

While the metaphor didn't make a lot of sense to me at first, Erin proceeded. And this is when she stunned me.

"What are you still doing at your dayjob?" she asked. This was the main reason I had called Erin. I wasn't sure what I was doing at my job, and was looking for some direction.

Erin then told me that she saw a lot of orange in my root chakra - this meant that I was wanting to move in a direction that aligns with my passions but also provides a stable living. I was walking up a staircase into new realms, but grabbing onto the railing for dear life. My guides noticed that I'm being cautious, which they don't mind. Erin mentioned that she did not see red in my chakra, which, as I understand, means that I'm not lacking in terms of finances or stability at the moment - which is true.

As we began talking about the career side of my life, a lot of what the guides mentioned seem to fit. I have a fairly stable job working for the Canadian government. I run a small college tutoring and exam prep business that is quite profitable. Both provide me with financial stability, but neither aligns with my life purpose. I felt a lot better about my job after consulting with Erin: she told me that I was giving a lot just by being at my job - I was uplifting the people around me, more than I realize. I've noticed this happening to some degree, but I didn't realize that it was, and will be, my primary contribution there. The actual work at my job, according to my guides, is insignificant in light of my life purpose. I knew this was the case, but I didn't know what my continued role in the job was - it is to earn a stable paycheque, and bring light to those around me.

I asked Erin what my next business should be, and what steps I should take. I'm interested in the field of personal growth. Erin went into quite a bit of detail as to how she saw me putting on workshops on certain topics in personal growth. Small, short workshops that I could start by doing for free at the local new age bookstore. My forte is my speaking voice, Erin said, and despite the fact that I don't yet feel confident or ready enough to begin these workshops (I'm 23 years old, and only a few months out of school), my guides insist that I'm ready. They want me working on personal growth using my voice, not sitting behind a computer - that was a major revelation for me. But my guides wanted me to keep my job and my tutoring business in the meantime, because I need stability and going bankrupt is not a lesson I need to learn. At the same time, I was not supposed to be spending time growing my tutoring business, as I had to divest it eventually.

I gained clarity about my role in TM - I should develop my skills and practice doing my little workshops there, but avoid feeling like I have to rescue my current TM club, which is suffering from low membership. If necessary, I should find a new club.

After spending nearly 30 minutes on career, we moved on to relationships. When asked about what my future boyfriend would look like, my guides declined to comment, not wanting to give me any pre-conceived notions. But when asked how I would meet a future boyfriend, Erin asked if I was vegan. This totally blew me away. I am, in fact, transitioning to a vegetarian and vegan diet at the moment. My guides showed Erin an image of me pulling a carrot out of the ground. Along with other images she saw, Erin interpreted this as meaning that I could well meet someone through my veganism - for instance, at a vegan social or potluck club. After my reading, I went online and joined the Ottawa Vegan Club. Who knew we had something like that in this city?

Erin also told me that my future partner would be attracted to my high energy, consciousness and awareness, and that my future relationship would be a fairly supportive one, and generally free of drama. My relationship is not going to be a major challenge or source of growth for me, and if I find myself in a dramatic relationship, it's not the right one for me.

When Erin mentioend the part of my challenges not stemming from my relationship, I immediately asked, where are they going to come from? After 2 readings, I've learned that sometimes the best questions are those that probe the spaces and corners of your reading. Good question, replied Erin. My challenge is self confidence.

I asked about money and my attitudes toward it. Erin said that my guides want me to start saving more, and living on less. In the not so distant future, I will be very happy that I did.

Something else that blew me away - I asked about the piano I was considering purchasing. Erin immediately asked if I was looking at an electric piano. Yes, indeed I was. She even mentioned one of the brands I was considering, and told me that I don't need to spend as much as I had in mind to be happy.

One project I had been considering was starting a new web-based online club in Ottawa. Erin said that I already had a lot on my plate, and it wasn't the best use of my time.

We finished the reading with a discussion of my spiritual and family life. On the spiritual side, I asked how I could better connect with my guides myself. Erin led me through a meditation on how to do that. When asked who my guides were, Erin replied that my guides wanted me to discover them myself.

I also inquired about my teenaged sister - my guides advised to make sure that she hangs out with the right friends, as they will very heavily influence her (which in my experience is very true).

By then, our hour was almost up. We exchanged some pleasantries, and I thanked Erin for all that she does. In just one hour, I got a lot of clarity on what's important to me. I knew most, if perhaps not all of what Erin told me deep down. But the third party validation was incredibly valuable, and allows me to move past self doubt and circular thinking, and confidently take action. Being from Canada, this reading cost a lot of money, especially with our exchange rate right now, but it was worth every penny. I encourage you to consider what a reading with Erin might do for you.
