Hi Erin,

I've been doing altered state work for over twenty years. I don't agree with "protecting yourself on the astral plane". What you term as "lower" and "higher"
vibrations may be quite different from someone else's perspective.

Who will judge what level they are on? My "higher" may actually be "lower" than someone who sees themselves as "lower". Also, vibrations can change when something is encountered on the astral plane. There can and have been many surprises when we leave our bodies.

I don't feel that we can always be objective when traveling into different realms. There is much to learn about being in an astral level, much of this is gained through experience. It is also possible to be deceived by the energies that we might bring along with us to the astral plane (hitchhikers).

In my practice, I have personally experienced spirit entities that were not "light" - though my clients felt they might be. They were attached to my clients. They believed that these entities were angels, when in fact they were deceased parents or friends, or even entities from other lives which have stayed around due to personal vibrational frequencies.

I personally don't encourage my clients to make the journey on their own. This is like playing with fire or with a ouijie board, you never know what will be waiting for us.

We can receive direct guidance and inspiration while in the body, that is why we are in one. Making this journey with someone who is familiar with this realm is still the safest way.
