The Dangers of Astral Projection (Blog) Use this thread to discuss the following entry from Erin Pavlina's blog: The Dangers of Astral Projection |
Erin, you should update the "first experiences with astral traveling" post now that you know what really happened! (Or, if you want the full story, ask your spirit guides...) |
Fascinating! Wowowow... Q. What’s this I hear about sex with demons? Is this even possible and if so, is it a good idea or a bad idea? Demon sex is probably _not_ such a good idea. Wow. Did anyone ask about sex with angels?? If that's an option it sounds like a better choice.. What if the demon's really sexy? A lot of people _are_ drawn to the whole badboy and badgirl thing in daily life. I'll grudgingly include myself in that group. There's something sexy about rebels. Is lust always bad?? Is it always low vibration? Do you lust for your significant other? This whole "transferrance of energy" theme is _very_ interesting to me. I had a relationship where my long term partner was kind of an energy vampire, he was always really lustful and emotional towards me. I had to end it because I felt like he was sucking the life out of me, always using up my energy instead of creating his own. He never worked on his own skills, or tried to improve himself. The irony is that many of us could be considered energy vampires to others who have stronger skillsets developed than we do alone. I'd go so far as to say that I'm somewhat of an energy vampire to you and Steve. Because you two have analytical and psychic skills that I don't, I look to you for answers. I think the key might be to look for answers in people's work - instead of bothering them directly. This enables the "one to many" approach to work. It's amazing how independant and self contained one has to be to avoid being a leech on those who are at a higher level. Doesn't that perspective make everyone sort of like that demon outside the room, just begging for a little bit of energy from a higher level spirit? Is it only a matter of degrees between a demon leeching energy from a higher level being and us doing so? I remember Steve saying that Jesus is his battery. Isn't that just another matter of degrees? Would Jesus see Steve as a low vibration entity trying to take away energy? |
Erin, I hate to say it, but sometimes your posts terrify me. I just got back from Apocalypto which was such a great movie in terms of thinking from someone else's shoes. Anyways, it made me think I wanted to be mroe like a bear, that a bear was something of a 'power animal' to me. This thought alone makes me want to exercise for physical strength and enjoy myself when I relax etc soforth as a bear would. Back on topic, I think just the idea of a whole new world puts me in the ridiculous shocked state of fear. It would be unsafe for me to attempt astral projection with this mindset, would you agree? Do you think lucid dreaming would help to lessen my fear? Could I see myself more as a bear in my lucid dreams? Do you think tying myself to a power animal is more positive or negative? All of your articles intrigue me so much. It's like getting hit in the back by the proverbial cement truck. Just wow. |

Dan: The kind of energy leeching I'm talking about is not consentual. When two people exchange energy by mutual consent, that's fine and dandy. What demons and lower level entities do is just jump you and start sucking your life in more of a rape-type analogy. Regarding lust... lust in itself is not bad, no. Demon sex though... brrrr. Dave: Lucid dreaming will help prepare you mentally for astral projection, yes. |
Erin, How frequently do you astral project? Do you always do so intentionally? Do you still get the shaking / kicking / tingling sensation that people frequently describe? |
Do you ever communicate to the "demons" to see what they really want? This post paralells your lucid dreaming experiences with Freddy Krueger.. maybe these entities are only evil because you preemptively expect or assume them to be that way, like Freddy kept chasing you because you ran? |
How frequently do I astral project? Not nearly as often as I used to. During my teen years I was projecting as much as 3 or 4 times per week. I had some serious business out there at the time. In my 20's I would do it like 3 times a month maybe. Now, with 2 kids and working full time and spending so much time in the ether during the day, I'm definitely more interested in resting at night and not going out as often. What happens now is that I project when called (long story that I will share in another blog entry probably), I project when something is up with my kids who psychically call me (another long story I should probably blog about), and there are a couple of other reasons I'll go out that I'm not ready to explore publicly yet. To summarize, maybe once a month, sometimes twice a week. Depends on what's happening. Do I still get the shaking/tingling? Yes, every time. But it goes much faster now. I mean, I can separate much faster. I can also block it if it's happening and I don't feel like participating. Do I ever talk to the demons and find out what they really want? Yes, I used to do that a lot, back in the teen years. I could write a book about that (and did actually but didn't publish it and am thinking about it still). I don't see many demons now because I avoid them. But occasionally one will come around and I don't spend much time in conversation. Great questions. Keep em comin! :) |
In Western medieval legend, an incubus (plural incubi) is a demon in male form supposed to lie upon sleepers, especially women, in order to have sexual intercourse with them. They are also believed to do this in order to spawn other Incubi. The Incubus drains energy from the woman it performs sexual intercourse upon in order to sustain itself. In most cases it either kills the victim or leaves the victim in very weak or fragile condition. A female version was called a succubus. - Incubus (demon - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) - Succubus - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia One time I woke up in a deep state of sleep and found a demon on top of me in a "pushup position" looking right at me . It had skin like treebark. It had a tail that leaned to the left. It looked like a walking alligator. Had red cat eyes. I felt like it had a tongue that slithered down my throat and into my belly. It was sucking something out of my belly. My energy stores I believe. It had me in a sleep-paralysis state. My body didn't want to move. I started to ball, and then a voice inside told me to pray, and then I got up the strength to wake my body up and run to the light switch. Once I snapped on the switch it was nowhere to be seen. After looking at some pictures online I determined it was "reptillian alien" as their called. They feed of fear. It's hard to stay calm & peaceful when you wake up and look at one of these things. Their sci-fi horror film ugly. Even thou I was scared of hell of this being doing something to me, and I was balling. I felt like there was an ancient part of me connected to this being. If I could meet him again I would of done things differently. I would of loved to talk to him and learn. I don't believe all demons or reptillian aliens are out to hurt us. I believe this is how they get by, feeding off of fear & control because this is how their "brains" work. I don't believe they are as evolved as "human" brains which is why they exist in lower dimensions. I believe we all should stay open-minded and learn from them. Try to unconditionally love them regardless of what they look or do to us. Anyway if you want to have a demon sex, here's a interesting site that will show you how: LOL Incubi and Succubi: Sexual Relations With Demons |
Protecting your body? Erin, You touched on protecting the room that your body is in while in AP. Would you explain how you do this either here or in another blog entry please. Thanks;) |
What do you mean under protecting your body? I would think that if your physical body is in firm position(not going fall off bed or something) and no-one is going to beat you up while you're astral, nothing big would happen. But then again, I've never had an AP...yet. :) |
Khristine: You protect the room the same way you might protect your body. Lots of white light and I also use an incantation of sorts to let low vibrational entities know they are not welcome. Erki: Astral entities can mess with your physical body while you're not there. I don't know how many times I came back from traveling to find a nasty entity messing with my body on the bed. So there came a point where I put a crystal shield, full of white light, around my body before I went traveling anywhere. I was also given a sword made of pure white light (didn't know such a thing existed, was just given it by a guide or angel or something) and I would use it to dispel anything that tried to attack my energy. |
Erin, something really weird happened to me a few weeks ago. It was a week-end and I usually sleep late on the week-ends. The sun was already up and I was in that state when you alternate between being asleep and being awake. Anyway, at one point I thought I was half-awake and I heard some noise (may be it was in the apartment, may be it was in the buidling...nothing I was worried about) so I decided to turn on the other side. When i tried to turn I couldn't move, I was completely paralyzed and felt a tingling in my entire body ...it was very unpleasant. I think i tried to scream help but no words came out. somehow i woke up but I felt very tired to whole day. Any idea what this might have been? Also, sometimes when I fall asleep I feel that I am falling...like I'm falling out of the bed. Nothing happens physically but it's a very unpleasant feeling so I always wake up and then fall back asleep. This has been happening for a few months but not very often. Thank you! Happy Holidays! |
Luca, that's sleep paralysis, and I believe there's another thread on that subject around here somewhere from last week. |
yes sleep paralysis with hypnogogic hallucinations (I really need to learn how to spell that word). Normal, common, but it is a sign that you are ready for more. :) |
I've had sleep paralysis twice in the past week, but no luck. In fact, no 'buzzing' either. |
Hello Erin About that question of die while in astral, I think that some cases of people who go insane can be consequence that troubles in astral world. The body keeps alive but is something like the mind lost the sense. But this is just my own theory because I never read anything specifically about that, what do you think about that? Keep that lovely work! Blessings, Joaquim |
Hello everyone! Erin, thank you for all the great info you post about. I rarely if ever get sleep paralysis that I can't break of my own will, but I find that often, almost every day, just as I fall asleep that I get a falling sensation, and wake up, only being asleep for a few seconds(or so), my leg use to jerk as I woke, now my whole body jumps a little. I've been trying to do AP, and I've had limited luck with lucid dreams (I planed one trip to have x-men powers like you Erin, it worked and I had powers like the guys in "the covenant" movie, the morning before I watched it....). When I awake like that, is it me snapping back into my body, I just don't recall it? (I use to not be able to recall any dreams for like years, now I can remember at least 5 a week sometimes as much as 4 a night.) Sorry about the long post, any thoughts or ideas? Any suggestions on progressing with AP? Pyro |
That feeling you have as you fall asleep is when you're in an alpha state. Alpha dreams begin to come. These are not exactly real dreams, they are precursors; your mind just having a bit of fantasy. You are not paralyzed yet, as you are when you are sleeping, and so sometimes you trip or fall and jerk awake. It's also a sign that you are remaining conscious until the moment you fall asleep. |
Demon experience Hi More than a year ago I had a strange experience but have always thought it nothing but a dream. I kind of dared an entity to prove that he exists and that he could satisfy me. Not very nice I know but I was having issues. Anyway, that night something came into my dream. I don't remember my dreams anymore but him I could remember. He was small, almost troll like and he was angry. I won't discuss the rest of the dream except that it was unpleasant, he appeared a few times and repeated the process and I woke up about 4 times ice cold in extremely hot weather. Yep was taught my lesson except it left me wanting him. The next time I called him something changed. We seemed to connect on a level, he gave me pleasure and we had a type of understanding. Maybe he felt sorry for me I don't know. A lot has happened in the last year but I haven't seen him again and honestly I miss him. He wasn't that sexy image people expect but he knew how to satisfy this extremely frustrated female. Reading about Incubi made me wonder if that is what he is. I also wonder now if he really was a figment of my imagination. Reading this makes me sound nuts :p . |
hey just looking for ancers :) hey I'm 15 and my house has a ghost(s) and I was wondering if it is safe to astral project? and lately I have been trying to astral project and I just cant every time I try I end up jerking my leg like as if to catch myself so plz get back to me as soon as you can.:) thanks |
Lowskiller, I'm no expert on Astral Projection, but I'd say as long as you raise your vibrations as soon as you get out of your body, any low vibrational entities will not be able to harm you. Also the fact that your leg has been jerking is a good sign- it means that your astral body is trying to get out, and when it fails and connects back with your physical it causes your leg to jerk (I think...=P) |
My experiences with AP Hello! My name is Rachelle and this is my first post. I am very interested in both Erin and Steve's blogs. The topic of astral projection and leaving one's body has always fascinated me. Probably because I long to explore the universe and see the stars. My father has had paranormal experiences including leaving his body, so I've always been wondering about what is out there and wished that I might have similar experiences. He told me about his first (at least I think it was his first) experience as a child, and I am compelled to share it here. He was in a car on a road trip with his family. And he recalls that suddenly he was no longer in the car, but outside it, above it, and I believe he said he could 'see' 360 degrees around at once, unlike what human vision is like. He said he became aware of a dark-cloud like entity that was near by, and it saw and noticed him and at first it was afraid (or shocked?), but then it soon saw him as no threat and it ignored him. the cloud lowered to the car to the engine, and when that happened the car promptly had car problems and stalled - or maybe it was a tire that blew. My dad said this cloud-figure, or something like it, has made several appearances in his life, and was there when he was in an accident over a decade ago where he injured his knee. I've never personally experienced anything like my father has. I think I may have left my body once or so, and perhaps been in that state but stayed in my body a few other times in the past. But nothing has been very exciting - The first time was when I was about.. oh, I guess I was 14? I think I just kind of 'floated' up to the ceiling in my room. I was never sure if that's actually what happened and always wondered if I simply imagined or dreamed it. But when I read Erin's blog and the references about the high pitched sound and buzzing, I'm almost certain that it did happen in my case as well - so maybe I actually have had a semi-sort of out of body experience, after all. I'd certainly like to experience something more exciting. But knowing there are bad spirits out there worries me and I'm not sure if it's worth the risk. Anyway, I guess that's enough for my first post? I have questions I would like to ask, so I guess I should start a new thread for that (I think?). Yeah, I'm quite the newb - literally. heheh. |
Erin, Just read your account of your first projection. Why did you and your then boyfriend conclude that you were under attack by some evil force Vs. being tutored by a helpful one? The "she has to learn someday" sounds more helpful than evil. Otherwise wouldn't it be more like "we'll get her one way or antoher!" :) Looking back do you still think it was something dark? |
No I think it was my guides trying to pull me out, but I had no warning that this was coming so I thought something terrible was trying to get me. This activated something in me, though, that put me in the path of all kinds of negative entities and energies. An instruction manual might have been nice of them to give me. :) |
Very interesting blog Erin. I have never heard of astral projection before I came upon this site. I am wondering if you believe or know that it is possible for someone to experience astral projection, or some sort of out of body experience, and not be aware of it (or remember the experience) until they come back to their body. From what I have read on here, it doesn't sound like that happens to anyone, but if so, wouldn't that be a bit dangerous? For example, while meditating, concentrating on something, or resting, I often feel myself being pulled out. I wouldn’t describe that my body feels an intense pulling sensation, and I never can look down and see myself or anything in my physical world below, but I feel the sensation of traveling and sometimes I have strange visuals to go with it. I sometimes get sick to my stomach because it is like a feeling of vertigo, and I have little control of it. If I give in to the feeling, I may be gone “somewhere” for minutes or hours, and I don’t even realize what has happened until I feel a sensation of snapping back into my body and I “wake up”. The scary part is, I have no idea where I was, or at least I can’t really remember. Is this something else completely? Your blog on the dangers has made me nervous about it now… |
Could be mental projection where you send your mind out, not your whole spirit/soul. Don't worry about it too much. You have unseen guides and angels watching out for you. It's ridiculously unlikely that anything bad would happen to you in that vein. Upsets the natural order. |

Is that something that can happen to people without trying? I often "fight" it because it is like I am leaving myself when I don't necessarily want to, but if I fight it, it just gets more intense and tiring until I give in. For this reason, I have stopped driving on the highway at night...just too exhausting of a battle with myself :( It is like something else chooses when I go in and out and I don't. There are certain times (like the entire months of April and May) when I am taken out constantly, and other times, like right now, when it doesn't really happen so much. When I am meditating, I seem to have a little bit better control of it, but I still don't have the full awareness of where I am going. If I practice while meditating, perhaps I will have better control of it at other times and start to remember/understand it? |
I only had one experience that could have been the beginning of some type of OBE... though i wasn't TRYING for one at all. While meditating I felt as if I was falling forward out of my body. (even though I was lying down - so I guess it was more like falling up) It freaked me out and I completely came out of meditation. Guess I blew it. :) |
