Default Dear Erin

Have you read this? Are You Seeking the Light or Just Dancing with the Dark?♥ A Guide to Spiritual Discernment by Peter Newton

Another member posted it in another thread I saw today. Basically it says "guides" are not to be trusted as I understand it, I know you talk to guides all the time in your readings, that guy seems to think that "guides" can appear good but always have manipulative motifs etc.. I'm only about 3/4 done with it, but so far it's been a good read.

Just wondering you opinion/what you have to say

I read some of it but it just doesn't jive with my experiences.

I've read a good piece of it. Thank you for the link. I actually think it's a very good read. Also, I think you might have overlooked a few things (or maybe you haven't gotten to the "good guides" part).
The author doesn't state that guides are "evil". He actually encourages communication with the higher self, and he gives good advice on how to receive guidance from your true guides. Here is a quote from the reading:

Quote:
Perhaps the most important thing I will share with you in this book is that in order to truly connect to Spirit, you must ask from your heart with total sincerity, on some kind of a regular basis, to be shown the way. You can say, "Father, show me the way," "Spirit, Guide me," "Jesus, I surrender my will." Any phrase of words spoken from the heart, which are similar to these, will put Spirit in your life guiding you. You still make the choices of what you want in your life, for Spirit can never violate your free will by making your choices for you. The important difference is that when we invite Spirit into our lives, the guiding and nudging process to bring us the greatest amount of joy, happiness and ease begins. This happens because once you ask Spirit to guide you, your actual guides are then allowed to do so with far more freedom than before you gave them "permission." This is directly because of the Law of Free Will. Even the Light will not come to you without your permission. The law of free will prohibits contact unless you freely give your permission. I had it demonstrated to me this past weekend so that it would end up here on these pages for you to read!
I can see why you would ask the question though. He tells some scary tales of evil entities posing as guides. Overall, it coincides pretty well with "the world" Erin describes.

Again, great read. Thanks Harmonium.

I also enjoyed the book a lot, I wish there was some way to attribute credibility though

Great reading. I live in this area and know of the locations that are mentioned in the book. The people mentioned did not ring a bell with me. But I'm a little younger than some of the dates mentioned.

I went on to read the book he recommends, "The Ra Material" (you can find it online). It was wonderful.
