Choosing parents and choosing kids

It was written earlier about how we choose parents before we incarnate,
do our parents also choose us?

How far ahead in time is incarnation planned?

Do our parents, siblings, or other family members 'know' about one another's life purpose? Or are we the only one who knows and must pursue it?

From what I've seen during readings...

I've seen both situations. I have read for people who are incarnated here who, while they were still disincarnated, made an arrangement with a specific soul to be it's parent.

And I've seen situations where a person here does not have a pre-arrangement with a soul in the ether to be its parent.

Other people, not just family members, may have knowledge (via their higher selves) of what a person's life plan entails.

Will it work the other way around? can we choose our children?

Yes sometimes during readings I am told that a certain child and a certain parent made a contract to incarnate together as parent and child. That usually happens in the ether before the parent incarnates. But sometimes it happens after the parent incarnates through a soul agreement made on the parent's behalf.
