Erin, I thought your blog post was going to be about the illusion of possessing things in the world!

Is demonic possession something you get asked about more than once? Or was this just a one-off?

I get a lot of questions from people who are afraid they are possessed or afraid they will become possessed. It's not something I worry about myself but I realized there might be a lot of people who are worried so I wanted to address it for them.

I find that just amazing. It seems like the fear of being possessed, itself, would create an ultimate sense of vulnerability -- like you are absolutely a leaf being buffetted around by the winds of external power. And then of course you can't just go around talking about your particular fear; it's not like spiders or heights. That must be awful.

I have come across a very good book on demonic possession. I strongly recommend it to anyone who's interested in the topic. It is quite a thick book but is devoted to describing just two cases of demonic possession. As you can imagine, it goes into very extensive detail on each case.

The author is the well-known Scott Peck, a psychiatrist by training. It's interesting to note that he wrote the book only many years after the actual occurrence of these two cases, in which he was personally involved. My sense of it was that as he neared the end of his life, Scott felt that it was important to have his encounters with demonic possession written down for posterity.

Scott passed away soon after the book was published. I think it was within one or two years of the book getting published.

From what I know and have been reading, I do not believe it makes much sense to be afraid of possesion during an astral projection because your vibration would be extremely high. From this logic, the negative entity would be overmatched. Even though your body is "empty", I think the cord keeps the body vibrating.

This is my hypothesis on it all. It's hard to prove objectively but I think it makes sense in both a logical and esoteric way.

Well I agree and disagree. A lot of times people astral project and are in a state of fear. Running into a nasty can make that worse.

But I agree that your cord (and guides, et al) protect you.

I've had some close calls and some hairy dealings but obviously I was never possessed. (insert joke here, too tired to think of a good one).

I've had several encounters with attempted possession and had many dealing with Earthbounds or what the bible would call demons although I need to share that I do not believe anything is or can be 'evil'.

I won't get into details cause I find that it freaks people out and states of fear are a much lower and more vulnerable place to be. I will say that the two most extreme experiences involve things flying across my house, creepy voices coming out of my mouth, and literally a battle for my body.

The most extreme encounter with a spirit, I found that he could only get up to where my heart chakra is. He tried to come through the back of my neck and we struggled for probably 4 seconds, that seemed like an hour. I was trying to say "get out" but he was where my vocal chords were so it sounded rather creepy, but he let go. It was rather forceful. Felt like someone grabbed my head and was trying to shove their feet through the back of my neck. I realized at some point I scared him just as much as he scared me. I'm not sure he was used to someone wanting their body, and thats the thing; You CANNOT be possessed without allowing it. You just can't and I think its been brought up here that the match is not conscious, its vibrational.

With the struggles that people face with their lives, relationships issues, loneliness, its no wonder that willingly give up their bodies, even if its just for a couple of hours here and there. Usually an Earthbound will follow people, hang out, come and go into their bodies and some allows it. Also keep in mind that with drugs and alcohol many of them where addicted to those things when they were in their bodies. The one I shared about earlier (I used to smoke but its been several years since I quit) moved the ashtray with a cigarette burning in it before trying to jump into my body. My feeling, he was trying to let me know that he wanted the cigarette and he was gonna get it through me. Another spirit had moved a pipe someone had left at my house that same day (and probably left the spirit there too).

From my experience dealing with poltergeist activity and even just left behind entities is they tend to carry a lot of pain, guilt, anger and unhappiness... and understand that if they were alive, they'd be more likely to use drugs anyway and more likely to not move on because of it.

There are ways to remove spirits from the body, and ways to remove them from homes that are pretty simple to be honest. With the body they most of the time willingly leave when they see a better host. In rare cases where entities possess younger girls they may want to stay and can get violent when you ask them to leave.

My thoughts, Love is the greatest protection you could ever have. I was going to say the aura but the Angels corrected me. The entities could not get past my heart =) If you find yourself with one, send them genuine, unconditional love. Thats what they didn't get while they were here anyway and most of them are extremely uncomfortable with it to be honest. Speaking of Love and Angels, they are very good at helping to clean out houses. They cannot take away the free will of the spirit to not move on, nor do they desire to, but they can direct them to a location other than where you are or where anyone is.

One more small thing on the Astral Projection. I don't think your entire spirit leaves your body, just the mind aspect (kind of like in dreaming, when you dream of the other side and relatives)... also I agree that you'd be vibrating highly I'm not sure a spirit would even desire to be close to your vibrational energy at that moment. Besides if the body is threatened the ego will pull the mind back to it immediately. The ego is still very present, even when your spirit isn't.

If anything I'd be a brief moment before you caught the spirit... BUT my feeling is you'd kinda need to have one in your home or wherever you were Astral Projecting from in order to even make this possible.

There's a difference between projecting out of your body and having only a mind projection. Both are possible. Astral projection, or an out of body experience is definitely not a mind projection. Very different feelings.
