O.k this lil viewpoint of mine, was inspired while listening to steves podcast on creative self expression- i've stopped the podcast, to allow this thought to flow so here goes; I see us all as rain drops, yes rain drops. When we leave our cloud we fall and land on the earth all longing to get someplace we call home. Some of us land in a field, we look for other siimilar rain drops and create our own home (puddle). some of us land among a stream and flow with similar rain drops to our selves. Inside we have an innate feeling we belong to something bigger, so we try to keep flowing, meeting others like ourselves along the way. Some get scared as the stream starts to pick up speed, they head for safe land. Others feel the fear but keep on flowing, it starts to get faster, and faster, at this point most head for the land with only a few left, then it gets even more intense for the last few, then suddenly the rain drops hit the ocean. Their home, stillness, oneness. Excuse my lack of writing skills, i'm not the most educated. By i do feel like a rain drop, trying to find the ocean, of joy and togetherness. have a good day everyone

Reminds me of a song a high priestess in my Wiccan coven used to sing to us (I was only in an actual coven for a few meetings and mainly it was to get close to this guy, but I digress). The song goes: We all come from the Goddess And to her we shall return Like a drop of rain Flowing to the ocean Good analogy

I like that imagery! Yet I don't like to think of us as parts of the whole. We are wholeness at the same time as individuals. To become ourselves is not that a piece of wholeness was taken out of wholeness. We are not a "piece" of God - not literally a drop from the ocean.

nice song Erin. Glad you like bene. Well the point i'm at now is when we disconnect our ego selves we connect with the divine above whatever you conceive him/her/it to be. When we make God/source more important than our ego, we experience bliss. But that's just my limited, uneducated, thinking.

I would add that even though we are like rain drops connecting along the way to returning to source - we can feel being source even before getting back to the ocean. And then it's probably up for debate - are we parts of the whole? or the whole at the same time as an individual? Maybe I'll make a poll for that. part of source or source itself? |

Wolfgang, your view is very much aligned with the holographic view of the universe (have you read any of that material?). When you cut a hologram in two, you don't get two halves of a whole - each "half" is still whole, if that makes any sense! To illustrate, if you have a hologram of an apple, and you cut it in two, each "half" still contains a picture of the whole apple. Cool, huh
