Default Recurring Dreams

Hi. I've read everything on Erin's site and most of it resonates with me as I am an extremely spiritual person that is highly empathetic and sensitive. In the last year I have developed my spiritual gifts quite a bit, even seeing images of things and people and then experiencing these events.

Last year, I worked at a job that I loved very much and would consider it to be my dream job although I was away from my family and was often disheartened because of it. A couple of months after I started the job I felt in my intuition that I was about to leave. I asked for a sign and 3 weeks later my boss said, "If your computer isn't working when you get here on the weekend, maybe it's a sign that you shouldn't be here." She was trying to encourage me not to come in on the weekends to work.

I ignored her and came in anyway because I loved what I did, and my computer wouldn't turn on. I went home and for some reason I felt like it was time to go. I prayed and prayed by myself asking for an answer or a reason why I should go...but I could not sleep for 24 hours...At 6am I typed up a resignation letter and sent it in. I felt so much peace afterwards.

Since then I have had more than 16 dreams about returning to work there. The latest one was this afternoon during my nap. I'm so happy in my dreams. I wonder if what I was listening to, that feeling, was the right thing and if not, what can I do to correct it. I'm feeling like the dreams are taunting me because I can not return there, it's in a totally different state and my ties with that company have been severed, to my knowledge. Why are these dreams recurring?

What can I do to stop them?

If anyone has any knowledge, I would greatly appreciate it. When I can afford a reading, I'll get one but for now, I would love some advice.

Winterwind,
Welcome to the Forum and thanks for sharing your experience.

I feel like there's something else going on here with this job. There's something that you're not sharing about what you were doing, what your boss was telling you or how you were relating to something or someone there.

You said you loved the job and would often come in on weekends to do it. Did you NEED to come in off hours to get it accomplished? Was it appropriate for you to do so? What was your relationship like with your boss? How about your co-workers?

Good questions.. I don't mind answering them. I was working for a well known publication. I had no family or friends in the city where I lived so I would work 12 hour days just to fill the time. My boss would discourage me from doing this but I loved it so much and had nothing else to do, so I went in anyway and found my joy while I was there.

Since I had just met my former boss and co workers when I started, our relationship was fine, I guess. I'm not a very social person at work but I do often overextend myself and I always exceed expectations so there were no complaints on the "Working" end of our relationship. I guess I could have been more sociable, but that has always been a problem of mine on any job situation, now that I think about it. I prefer to focus on doing my work rather than making friends.

Does any of this have anything to do with the recurring dreams? I rarely think about that place, except for the times I have those dreams. I would like to move on from it, but I guess I can't. Many people thought I was crazy for leaving and I have yet to find a replacement source of income.

I asked about your relationships at work because from an employment perspective, if you were good at what you did and left on good terms with good reviews, you may not necessarily have burned your bridges.

Your dreams seem to be telling you that you're not done doing what you were supposed to do there.

If it's an option, you should talk to your old boss and see if there's a possibility of coming back.

Thank you... I appreciate your attention to my problem.

I have reached out to them and offered my help although since I have left the team manager has moved on and left a gaping hole in their progress. I have moved to another state and am not in the position to move back right now.

We will see what happens...

My highest desire is to do what I did there...in a work from home capacity.
