| hi everyone i was hoping soomeone could shed some light, on the types of lights i see. i'll explain i've recently had a massive shift in my beliefs about god and this is having some amazing, emotional, scary, uplifting experiences of seeing bright lights appearing during prayer and even when i am out and about. immediately when i pray at night and start gving thanks this reallly bright light appears above my head. Now this was never happened when i labelled myself a catholic and had conventional views does anyone else get this. Also i keep getting green lights appearing just before i go to sleep, what does this mean? i am very new to this kind of stuff and find it a little scary yet liberating at the same time. I appreciate any feedback |

| Describe the lights. Are they a glow, a shimmer, a glimmer, do they blink in and out? Do they pop in and pop out and return or just pop in and pop out and that's it? Do you see more than one at a time? Do you see them out of the corner of your eye, or head on? Are you seeing them with your eyes or your mind's eye?

| well the green one shoots in and out when im in bed, but the white bright one hovers above my head for a minute then goes. But i can also see flashing by at thecorner of my eye- thats been happening often recently. Im a little scared as my mum was diagnosed with schizophrenia at my age and she used to envision the devil. When i see them i feel good especially theone that hovers over my head, just dont want it to turn bad. |

| Spirit lights can do what you're describing and are not to be feared. White lights are often spirits or angels. I periodically see white lights flashing around in the air. I always thought it was an eye issue until a well known psychic told me she saw the same thing and said what it was. I am not 100% sure that's what it is though. I wouldn't worry.

| Erin, though I like both blogs very much, sometimes I definitely like your posts more than Steve's, too. It happens when I'm exhausted, scared, tired or something like that. And Steve's "bear bombs" and "fireworks" can only make things worse. In this case, your compassion and kindness can soothe my soul. I recall myself, having a hard period, crying out loud something blurry (pure chaotic sufferings in the word form) to you through the post interface. And even before I sent it, I'd felt much better. I think there's no competition between you and Steve at all. You both do your jobs well, in your own different ways. Now about the lights. Sometimes I envy you, people, who actually see or hear something. As for me, I mostly imagine, visualise, and perceive (feel). Perceive "fields" or "auras" like electricity or magnetism, but in spiritual sense. And I'm still not sure whether it's just my imagination or some physiologic stuff. Does it mean that I just don't have such gifts? Or (as I beleive), I'm blocking them by my own vibrations, sometimes low, like fear? (I would be scared to death if I'd see something paranormal for the first time...) Or some divine force prevents me from seeing what I must not see (at least, yet)? One of the horoscopes said, that Capricorns (I am) have great magic abilities, but fail to use them properly, and can certainly end up falling to darkness. I've felt that idea long before I read this... |

| We all perceive spirit with different senses. I too was afraid of seeing something scary, which blocked my psychic abilities in my early 20's. I decided I would be startled but not afraid and that did the trick.

| ok i was raised by my irish catholic grandparents, as i got into my teens my faith dwindled, and i had a very loose relationship with god. I then started to look the bigger picture with the world how it is, and questioned if my beliefs are right and going to serve me well. I asked god for guidance and said forgive for what i will now do which is embrace new learning foreign to me. I now do not put a title on myself, I am only 23 and I do not know enough about world religions. What i do know is that my relationship with god, higher source (whatever you want to called it) has never been so strong. This has led to spiritual awareness which at first was scary, but i now am overcoming that fear and having new experiences all the time. I only tend to get the white light which i breathe in, although earlier i got a burning feeling on my head which i've never had. my advice is to ask got for forgiveness as you explore and learn. |

| Do you still believe that Jesus Christ is your Lord and savior? Much of what is said here is backed up by biblical teachings. I don't pay attention to those who doubt the validity of the Bible. I believe that it is perfect in it's Hebrew form and to this day, if you have someone translate the Hebrew to English, it is almost verbatim in the new American Standard. If God is the perfect higher creator, His word must be perfect as well. Catholicism has "added" much to the writings which is wrong. Adding or subtracting from the Bible is against God's will. This is why many truth seeking Catholics eventually leave the catholic church once they study the Bible for themselves. My only advice is: Keep the fundamentals in your practice. Remember that your only connection to God is through the Son, Christ Jesus. The Holy spirit is here to help you. Trust Jesus, not the pope. Good Luck. |

There is certainly a lot of Truth in the Chrstian Bible - regardless of the version. And there is Truth in Hinduism. And there is Truth in Buddhism. And there is Truth in Wicca. And there is Truth in Islam. And there is Truth in all Indiginous Paths. God's Word is everywhere and His Truth is omnipresent. If we allow ourselves to see only one part of His Truth, then we are limiting our connection to Him. The Holy Spirit is alive in all things. In the stones of the Earth, in the Trees of the forests, in the air of the winds and water of the oceans. The Holy Spirit is alive in us as well. In this way, we are all connected to one another, but also to all things in this world and beyond. This is the essence of Truth and just about every "religion" recognizes this in some way. We may use different words to describe this connection and how it manifests itself for us; we may have different rituals that help us achieve that connection, but in the end, we are all doing the same thing and are all connecting to the same Source. Ace, I respect your beliefs and am happy for you that you have a strong faith. If you live your faith - whatever it is - this is a good thing. I also admire the fact that you share your beliefs. Thank you for that. Dream23, I wish you luck in your search for that strong connection. I followed a similar path at your age and, like you, gained a stronger and very personal connection to God because of it. The things I learned from other religions, other practitioners, other Holy Men (and women), showed me what I said above - that ALL things have Truth and that if we have an open heart we can find it anywhere and with anyone. Follow Erin's advice on seeking to better connect with your Guides and Angels. Let the Lights be your markers. When you see them, rther than turning away in fear, turn towards them with openess and love. The response you will get will be one of the most impactful things in your life and it will shape your future and help you see the Path that has been laid out for you. Aho Mitaque Oyasin, |

| thanks mato, you've actually put into words what i have been feeling. I have always concentrated on jesus' message rather than jesus himself. I live in england in a multicultural society, and i want to understand others and find shared values. I have christian friends who judge muslims, hindu's, Buddhists and i just think if Jesus came back today would he really call himself a christian...I don't think so. Others excuse my naivety, i'm young and foolish ;-) With regards to speaking to guides, angels, I am not going to actively pursue it, if they want to talk to me their free to, but I prefer going through god/holy spirit/source and let them filter the message down ( as i'll probably ask the wrong questions) Thanks again for everyones input |

It sounds to me like you are having a kundalini awakening. Please take a look at this webpage: SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS of KUNDALINI Awakening Don't be frightened by anything negative you might read about kundalini, it is a Divine blessing and not to be feared. I am the same age as you, and experienced a spontaneous kundalini awakening in my mid teens. Took me a while to figure out what was going on, but due to the miracle of the internet I eventually came across some answers. I highly suggest reading the yoga lessons on this website to get a better understanding of what kundalini is: AYP Main Directory - Free Lessons in Meditation, Pranayama, Kundalini, Tantra This post is good: AYP Lesson 54 - Kundalini - A Code Word for Sex That website also has a good forum. If you want to ask me any questions feel free to PM me. Namaste |

| not sure what to say iamstillness, that is prob the most accurate diagnosis i have come across. I experience a great deal of the symptoms, even the being thrown into yoga poses (which i have never been taught, but seem to be doing it right) also a lot of the experiences described seem to resonate with me. Especially the energy flowing when going to bed. i haven't had a chance to research the website indepth, but what i have read intrigues me. I shall be in contact when questions arise, as they are sure to do so. i'd like to thank everyone again for their wisdom and advice, it is all aiding in helping me on my journey of self discovery ( i feel like i need to give something back, with all this taking!). Appreciate the link iamstillness Last edited by dream23 : 03-21-2008 at 05:46 PM. |
