| Most of my dreams are blurry. I think it's because I wear contact lenses but don't sleep in them. Does anyone else have the ability to decide to wake up from a dream? I've been able to do that since I was a kid and could escape my nightmare monsters by this technique: In my dream (as a child) I'd be being pursued by something nasty. I'd then become lucid and realize it was a dream so I could then turn around and confront the 'monster' - who would then usually become something quite harmless after all, or if I wanted to wake up I'd lie down (in my dream) and close my eyes...and wake up in bed at home. (I don't use it now however and don't have nightmares anymore) This did back-fire on me once though when I woke up and started to congratulate myself on my wicked skills.. and then the curtains came alive and started to attack me! And then I really woke up...or did I? DLH |

| I've had the blurry dreams. In two cases I was able to determine that the dream I was having was actually someone else's. I was witnessing their dream (confirmed by discussing with them the next day). But in many cases I have blurry dreams and those are often precognitive.

| That's strange. The few times I've ever had lucid dreams, they were astoundingly crisp and vivid. I even remember looking at a whole yard of grass and thinking, "wow, look at all those individual blades of grass; how can those possibly be all in my mind?". If I close my eyes and try to envision a whole yard of grass like that, I'll only see an approximation. It's strange that we could see something more clearly in a dream than in our imagination. |

| That's hilarious! |

| Yeah most lucid dreams will have that crisp clarity you're describing. I have a few theories on the blurry ones but nothing concrete.

| Care to share your theories? I am interested as well. Another interesting thing that happens to me is that I am unable to move very fast sometimes. I'll be going at normal speed, but then, for example, something will chase me, and I'll attempt to run, but it's like I'm stuck in mud, or my muscles just won't move any faster than slow motion. Other times I'll flit from place to place (including flying) as though space is nothing. Come to think of it, I very rarely have dreams in which I can move at a normal rate. Most of my dreams are more about ideas than physical movement anyway, but those that do involve movement, seem a little odd. |

| Not ready to share my theories at this time. Long story. It took me a while to be able to fly like Superman in my dreams. But the feeling of doing it is really unparalleled in waking life. I started out floating just a few feet above ground like most people. but over time you just get better. One method I used to get better at flying was jumping off high buildings. Also, lucidly making myself Storm or Supergirl or whatnot helped a lot!

| I fly in about 90% of my dreams. It is an awesome feeling. Sometimes though some dream characters are able to jump really high and try pull me back down. For the most part i am fine. It's a lot easier getting to city to city in flight mode, also popping up into space. Personally one thing i don't really do is completley manipulate my dreams. I'm usually aware and just play along with the story line. Another thing that is interesting is how a dream reflects the changes you go through in the physical world. Been awhile since i've gotten some dream booty, instead i'm telling myself i should probably get to know them better first. |

| As a response to your post about lucid dreaming I just wanted to say that many times you remember dreams because you had them right before you woke up. It is easy to forget dreams because your brain is in a lored level of awareness. Although, some people say that by just focusing on remembering your dreams before you go to sleep will help. | I´ve only had two lucid dreams in my whole life, and both of them were extremely blury, and one of them was in black and white. I also wanted to ask something...have any of you guys ever "dreamt" that you had a lucid dream. I´ve had dreams that I have disregarded as being lucid, because they just seemed really weird. Like I was dreaming, and suddenly I became aware that I was dreaming, and I thought "Oh My God...I´m lucid"...but then I started to do something really weird, like in my dream I was back in elementary school and I started giving animal faces to all my friends...so suddently my friend would look like a horse, and another one like a pig, and another like a monkey and so on....and I was laughing at the whole thing...but when I woke up I thought that I just dreamt that I was lucid, because I would not waste a lucid dream doing something as silly as that. Has this ever happened to anyone else??? Last edited by Negrita : 02-01-2008 at 07:00 PM. Reason: typo |
