Wow, you've been talking about this show for so long and I didn't expect to see/hear something so... heavy metal... Intense show, though. You should have had a bigger part! |

Yeah, I didn't know anything about the show when I agreed to appear on it. When I found out what it was all about I was surprised they were interested in me. Hmm, if I recall correctly I was wearing a goth outfit when I sent them my videotape for review. That would be funny if they brought me onto the show because they thought I was a goth chick. |

Erin, you mentioned in several blog entries that right around the time you were seriously starting to embrace your psychic abilities that your guides told you to appear in the Criss Angel show (among other things). What was the purpose for doing this? Or do you have yet to realize that? Was it just about being on the show or the actual experience you encountered while taping the show? I'm just curious.

It was to help me find the courage to "come out of the closet" with my abilities. Right after I filmed the show I knew I had just a few months before the show would "out" me and I didn't know if it would have a big or small impact. So I got myself in high gear and really went for it, started doing professional readings, and voila... here I am today. Also, while filming the show I read for nearly all of the cast and crew. So that was wonderful practice for me. the actual experiences I had investigating the amargosa were interesting but not terribly profound and doesn't really emulate the kind of work I do today. |

when his producer contacted me and asked me to be on the show I had no idea who Criss Angel was and had never heard of or seen his show. Once I agreed to be on the show I of course watched an episode. But it was all about magic. I was wondering why he wanted someone like me on the show but oh well... I just went with it. Later when I was talking to the producer I told her I would be willing to do a reading for Criss and be filmed if they wanted to use it for the show. she quickly said, "No Erin, believe me, you don't want to do that. Criss is adamantly opposed to psychics and mediums and he will tear you apart on camera." When she told me taht I asked her, "Then why on earth would he want me on the show doing the investigation?" And she said, "He has to prove to the celebrities that the place is haunted so he can do his seance properly. So at the very least I knew he wouldn't try to discredit me on teh show because it would go counter to his goal. But while I was filming the episode I ended up doing mini-readings for many of the crew and many of the employees of the Amargosa hotel. I never got to meet Criss. He was filming on a different day than me and they wouldn't let me meet him. Perhaps they did me a favor. |

Wow, that episode was powerful. You were awesome (wish I could see more). I'll be looking for the re-runs. My thing is that even if you are a skeptic, seeing (or experiencing it first hand) should at least make you curious about the... anomaly. So I don't fully understand Criss Angel's attitude toward the paranormal. On Phenomenon he kind of explained that it has something to do with his father passing away in his arms (not to long ago). He seemed to feel that anyone claiming those kind of abilities are manipulating people. He must have had a bad experience. His scorn for psychics, paranormal or anyone claiming it came through loud and clear on a few episodes of Phenomenon. He almost physically attacked one guy (Jim Callahan, Paranormalist) and challenged Uri Geller (unscripted) on the show. Jim vs. Criss Angel YouTube - Jim Callahan finds Criss Angel an ideological bigot --> I must admit the Jim's performance seems a little flamboyant to me. Phenomenon isn't going to do anything for the psychic/paranormal profession, but American Psychic Challenge is a REALLY cool show and will convince a lot of skeptics that something is going on.
