Default Dumping Sarcasm & Installing Enthusiasm

The full weight of my sarcastic attitude fell onto me this morning and I have realized that I have been sarcastic for far too long. Does anybody have any tips/tricks/comments/ideas on how I can rid myself completely of Sarcasm and replace it with Enthusiasm. Thanks.

Realize sarcasm for what it is: A defense mechanism. When you're happy or excited about something, express it. Start small if you have to. IE, "I had this great sandwich today," or, "You know who is so nice? Rosa at Quiznos. She gave me a free salad." Be grateful for the really cool stuff you often look over. If someone is a good friend, thank them.

Enthusiasm breeds enthusiasm. I called Slamhot Boy last night just to tell him how work was going (good!) and how great he is (wonderful). Rather than being snarky about the problems in my life, I was positive. In response? He's positive, which makes me MORE positive and enthusiastic. We started talking about problem solving and not being ashamed of our limits, and it was just this really fabulous and productive conversation. Go in enthusiastic instead of thinking: "Well, Slamhot is having medical issues and is bound to be grouchy, so I'm going to be sarcastic and defensive," and stuff will actually get BETTER.
