Default Hypnosis

Has anyone used hypnosis/self-hypnosis in their pursuit of self mastery? How were the results?

I used self-hypnosis with great success. Learning self-hypnosis allowed me to get control of my inner states. For a long time it has been a primary way of communicating with my subconscious.

I used hypnosis when I was in the very early stages of my personal development journey. I read books and attempted self hypnosis.

I discovered that for me it was a way to connect with something almost undefinable which I had rarely glimpsed before, on a regular basis. I achieve similar outcomes with deep meditation today. It is very nearly the same result for me just a different method of getting to that "place."

I have used hypnosis for other things and attended some training programs to achieve certification in clinical hypnosis and find it a useful tool for that also.

Autosuggestion is a powerful form of self hypnosis, it is easy to use and it works like magic.

Ilya,
what type of self-hypnosis do you do? What is your procedure?

I have had great succes with it. YOu feel better immidiately and results follow quickly. I wouldnt say that I achieved self mastery- I am far from that. But, I am in a much better place now than I was when I started.

The only problem with itis I dont think it truly dissipates those deep deep seeded negative emotions. I would find that life would be great, happy and positive while doing the S.H. and then something would happen. Like you would see someone that reminds you of something way back or you would get into a situation that seems to set off those negative emotions. then its back to the negativity for a few weeks.

All in all I reccomend S.H. but if you got some of those deep deep seeded negative voices then you should work on that also by some other method. Just my opinion tho.

book recommendation: "Mastering the art of self hypnosis" C Roy Hunter.

I'm doing erikssonian type. Basically, I enter trance state anyway I like. There are different techniques, really. These days I just remember the trance I've had during a long and boring commute.
Once I'm in a trance, I think about the outcome I need and then exit to the real state. I haven't had any superhuman achievements using self-hypnosis. I consider it to be a mental hygene and mental fitness. Just practicing to go in and out of trance state gives me more confidence when I deal with internal control.
