What if............ I could feel whatever feeling I wanted, at will.......... First of all, how would that be? Second, what would I want to feel? (for me, happiness, essence, security, confidence, ecstacy, gratitude) Third, there in things in life you just have to do... work, pay taxes, be with the in-laws. Okay, how would it be, to be able to do what you have to do in extreme happiness. Are such things possible? |

The first thing that you have to do on the path to self-mastery is to accept the fact that if you let the way you feel be directed by outside influences… you are no better than a robot… (Robots have certain abilities but those abilities are controlled by outside influences…) That being said, it must become totally unacceptable for you to be reduced to the level of a robot… then, you will be motivated to do something about it… Internal feelings are usually highly influenced by what we focus on, by our personal rules as to what should be and what should not be, and to a great degree by our body posture and breathing pattern… Now, the easiest of these to control (though at times not easy) is our body posture… if you adopt the posture and breathing pattern of someone who is happy, secure and confident… that alone with send powerful signal to your brain saying that this is how you should feel… Next is our personal rules… if you can adopt the fundamental rule that the universe is already perfect and that you are in the perfect place in it… it will be very hard for you not to feel good… you will just be glad that you are alive and be grateful for it… And, lastly… what you focus on… there is always two sides to an issue just as there are two sides to a coin… so, direct your focus to the positive… the negative will lose its power… and you will be a happy and thankful person… As I said… maybe not easy to do… but we all can achieve a degree of expertise in the art of self-mastery… and we should all work on it… the quality of our life depends on it… . | |

| visualisation? and anchoring, really, I guess. Nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary and it's certainly anything that anyone can do. I can do it with or without external stimulus, some music or video or a quote or a story about one of my heros. I just replay something in my mind from my past that has produced that state before. To change your emotional state at will to gratitude, happiness, love is one thing. Having the awareness not to let your self drift away from your state of happiness is another. When you don't let you attention wander into the perspectives and interpretations of unhappiness you don't have to exert effort, use a technique, or expend will power to get it back. |
