| With me, It is more about the change in the seasons, it is like when the seasons start to change, I get very emotional, and feel disrubted , little disturbed , if it is time to close the pool ( i love the water) and say good by to summer, I start to cry , or I write a poem about it...lol So for me it is not so much the lack of light that effects me, it is the changing of the seasons period.... |

| Hi yes i think its sad, I live in the uk and spend most days indoors and when I go out I wear my sunglasses because I have senstive eyes, and yes sad is connected directly to the sun or brightness of the day, If you have sad and dont get enough light in your eyes you become depressed some times realy bad! I thought there would be more people on here affected but I suppose a lot of you are from sunny climates, thanks anyway.x |

| I live in a very sunny climate, but I sit in an office with no windows most of the day. I also have very sensative eyes. I try to go out in the sun when it's not at it's brightest. Being outdoors seems to help a great deal when I am feeling down. (Disclaimer: I haven't been diagnosed with SAD, so I don't know if it's the same thing.)

| Sunlight is great. Spend some time outside and you will feel better, at least it worked for me, and I am not only the president of good press for the sun, I am also a member. All kidding aside, you need to get adequate sunlight because sunlight converts cholesterol to Vitamin D and without Vitamin D, you body is lacking an essential vitamin and therefore does not function optimally. Or you may consider taking a Vitamin D supplement, but do not overdose. I hope this helps with your depression as it usually works if I'm ever feeling down and troubled and I need a helping hand. |
