I don't know why, but certain people make me uncomfortable. I'll admit that the majority of the people who make me feel this way are pretty/popular/mean individuals. i really wish i didn't give a damn about the wierd looks i get from them but i do. and i hate it. i wish i didn't care. i wish i didn't care what people think of me. i KNOW for a fact that i'd be more than infinity times happier. and yet i let them hurt them, even though they don't think they did anything. god. i hate this. sorry i'm just ranting now. i just feel like i can't talk or say anything around them or to them. what on earth is wrong with me???

Hi lightthecandle, As I mentioned to you in a previous post, if you have a healthy self-concept nothing or no one can rattle you. How someone else is, should have nothing to do with how you feel (uncomfortable in this case). Allowing others to have power over your feelings puts you in a very tentative position. Why would you give anyone else that power and control over you? Think about it. |

Robert J. Ringer wrote a book, "Winning through Intimidation" in it he describe the various subtle ways that people use to intimidate you... and take control over you... If you read the book you will see right through those who do intimidate you... and then, these tactics would have little control over you... However you could take some consolation in the fact that most everyone is intimidated by someone else sometimes... and one of the best way to overcome that fear is to face it... eventually you will become desensitized and will be a lot less subject to being intimidated... Also, if you are so inclined, the Martial Arts are a great way of gaining self-confidence... after you've faced and few hundred goons who want to beat the crap out of you and you get to beat the crap out of them... very little will scare you... Best of luck to you... . |
