I noticed a strange thing and actually have heard it from other people. When I get really tired, and I mean really tired, like no sleep for the whole night, I seem to not care about things and become really funny and whitty and sort of easy going. How can you explain that? Is this a known scientific condition? I'd like to be able to replicate this condition minus the tiredness |

It's probably because your mind is a little fuzzy so you don't think about things so much, you just take everything as it comes. To replicate this minus the sleep deprivation, I would say just stop overthinking everything. Live in the moment rather than the past or the future. I am trying to do just that. It's not easy, but the rewards are great. As for if it's a scientific condition, I have never heard anything 'official', but I have experienced the same thing. |

I haven't really got a good enough grasp on it myself to teach anyone else, but you could start by reading The Power of Now by Eckhart Tolle if you haven't already. Probably meditation of some sort would be helpful too. I don't really know a lot about different kinds of meditation, but maybe someone else here will have some more answers for you. Basically, whenever you notice yourself thinking too much, mulling over the past or worrying about the future, just observe your thoughts. Realize that you are thinking. Don't analyze anything or try to figure out the answers. Then focus on the present moment. The past and future are illusions. This moment is all there is. If you read the book I suggested it will probably make a lot more sense than my ramblings! |

When I become tired, I don't care either... but in a different way. If I have something that I want to do or need to get done, I'll think "I don't care, I'm way too tired." I let sleep take over me waaaay too easily! I do feel sort of looney as you mention also, but nothing ever gets done when I have a lack of sleep.
