| I was just watching the Matrix and it got to the part where Neo is about to make "the first jump" and Morpheus said something that just resonated with me, "You have to let it all go: Fear, Doubt and Disbelief." So I thought I would talk about it. It is my goal, my long term goal that is, to essentially redefine what it means to be a human and to put a sense of nobilty, honour and power into the human spirit again. As such this message meant a lot to me. I realised in a horrifying flash of comprehension that I was afraid, doubtful and in a constant state of disbelief. As such I stopped the DVD and off I went to ponder this. I realised that it was a mental thing, not a physical thing (this is basic stuff for most people I know) and that the fear was within me (Again basic, something I actually knew but hadn't understood properly) and I wondered at the limits of our thinking. Is it gravity that stops me falling, or my belief in it? Just how capable are we, as humans, if we don't have fear? And I guess I got nothing else to say really...

| Some really interesting thoughts here. I am not sure I have anything to add here at the moment, but best wishes while you ponder these things!

| I just re-watched the matrix recently aswell and was amazed by the amount of quotes in the movie that resonated with me and made me think in ways I hadn't when I had watched the movie previously. The concept of the movie is quite simple, although I've watched the movie a few times over the years and it seems with me that the more developed and open minded my thinking is, the concepts in the movie follow in the same way. Awesome how that line jumped out at you though |

| I was just thinking. Would this mindset be applicable to Martial Arts, I study Shotokan Karate and my weakest point is the Kumite (Free style fighting) and I wonder, could it be fear that holds me back, and not just physical ineptitude?

| "You're saying I can stop bullets?" "No, I'm saying that when you're ready, you won't have to" "Try not to bend the spoon, that's impossible, just realise the truth, there is no spoon, then you'll see that it's not the spoon that bends, but it is yourself" When Neo was shown the truth, even saw Morpheus jump the building, when he tried it, he still fell. "I can show you the path, but only you can walk it" We are all Neo, stumbling down the rabbit hole, looking for answers and truth, looking for someone to show us the way (where's Morpheus when you need him) We are perfect, we are perfection, but maybe that's a little boring, so off we go to earth and physicality, growth and all the experiences to enjoy, but really aren't we just making a journey back to perfection? Fear, doubt and disbelief are part of the journey, when we start to let them go, we get clarity, we see the true nature of reality whatever that maybe, we get closer back to perfection. Enjoy!! | This is not a new concept! Think about where this has been put out there for centuries.

| I love that quote, Akashic Librarian, as well as the others that Max pointed out. So true. Leave all the fear behind, and you can accomplish anything. I love that movie. So much stuff in it. I don't know where you are in the movie now, or if you've seen it before, but there's a moment in which someone has to make a choice in the movie. And that's a truly powerful moment for me, personally. Look out for it! |

| Seen it before! Its my all time favourite film of forever I have the box set, I must have seen it a hundred times, and the others, and the Animatrix and all the rest....*Drools*

| Okay, so I love that moment when Neo decides that he can save Morpheus. I feel like so many of us have those moments, where we decide that we can do something, we commit to our resources, and over the course of time it gets done. But there's that decision to put everything in full throttle. Love that moment. |

| Are you suggesting that somewhere in the unknown we are some sort of perfect entity? Or are you suggesting that we are all perfect beings in the here and now? Or are you suggesting that we are perfect in another realm and we come down to earth as imperfect just to find our way back to perfection? And are you suggesting we do this for fun? No thanks. Quote:

| Some people have trouble with the idea of being "perfect". If you've ever played a RPG (Role Playing Game) then you wil easily understand how this idea works. When you begin to play a videogame your character is "imperfect". He is unable to deal with the challenges that surround him. Yet, in the back of your mind you understand that by the end of the game he will be "perfect". In your mind you already consider him to be the end-game character. If you judged your character based on his current attributes that would be foolish. His faults are only temporary. It is the end game character that we remember. Just like a videogame charcter, we are all simply moving towards a state of perfection(although our physical bodies might not always agree with this philosophy :P). We should not judge ourselves or judge others on their current attributes. All people will eventually reach their full potential. Your state of "perfection" echoes on into eternity. While your imperfections only fade with time. Just my $0.02 |

| I love the Matrix. My favorite quote is probably the one that Michael Chui brought up in another thread recently: Oracle: I'd ask you to sit down, but, you're not going to anyway. And don't worry about the vase. Neo: What vase? [Neo turns to look for a vase, and as he does, he knocks over a vase of flowers, which shatters on the floor] Oracle: That vase. Neo: I'm sorry... Oracle: I said don't worry about it. I'll get one of my kids to fix it. Neo: How did you know? Oracle: Ohh, what's really going to bake your noodle later on is, would you still have broken it if I hadn't said anything? Erock

| Thats good Erok, I like that bit too. I also like the bit when The Oracle tells him that "Being the one is sorta like being in love, no one can tell you, you are in love, you just know it, through and through balls to bone."
