I am afraid of everything. There are many solutions to any kind of problems that cross my mind. There are lots of changes I want to do. Lots of ideas I want to realize. I usually fail after one or two days, because of a spate of fears. My heart beats fast,I cannot concentrate at all and I become nervous. Sometimes I get anxiety attacks or begin to cry,so I quit my positive resolutions. How can I beat my fears?I just want to follow through and even if it´s just a small change.... |

Okay, for example I want to kick the internet addiction. Then I go without the computer for one day and the very next day I become nervous and have the feeling of getting depressed. Above all I want to eat less in order to loose weight, but I am afraid of all the time it takes to loose 20kg. What if my weight will stagnate? What if I am going to collabse during my diet? |

Dear coffee girl, let me recommend a book that might help. It is by Susan Jeffers and it is called 'feel the fear and do it anyway', perhaps she can give you a few pointers. I remember a time when I had to wear a talisman just to give me the willpower to make it through an impossible work situation. I live to tell about it and can tell you once you make it through the turbulence there is only blue sky and sun shine. You go girl, you can do it! Zeitgeist |

You need to stop worrying about the future and start living in the present. Try mindfulness meditation.

Try something that is very likely to work. Once you see the result, your super ego will be convinced, and you would be more likely to accept the possibility of success. For the record, I lost about 16 kg in 4-5 months, steadily. I only exercised 3 times a week. So it's definitely quite possible. =) |

And if the thought of losing 20 kg intimidates you, try aiming to lose 1 kg first. When you succeed, try losing another 1 kg. And so on. The time will pass anyway.

I have lived with such debilitating fear for many, many years and have searched for the answer and the way out. I have found the way that is working for me but I am convinced that that way is different for all of us. So let me ask you if you know what is behind your fear? My search for help included quite a bit of work to answer that question. for me - that was central to finding the way out. I have read about a number of remedies that do not believe the answer depends on knowing the cause of your fear. But it was essential for me. My fears were triggered by an automatic adrenal flow. This automatic trigger developed after many years of chronic emotional abuse as a child. I was not aware of that source because I had processed it all in a way so that I did not have access to it. But the trauma I experienced as a young child over many years created a reaction so that anything related in memory would trigger. As an adult when I experienced a series of trauma in a very short period of time my whole system simply quit working. I was paralyzed - over things that should not have caused fear at all. But once I connected my current fear response to the source I was able to find a remedy that worked for me. I asked many people along the way for help but as it turned out I ultimately had to do the heavy lifting. My one word of wisdom to you would be to never give up. Even if the fear takes over on day 2 try again on day 3 and again on day 4. Hold your fear in your mind for as long as you can, tell yourself that it will not hurt you and wait to see if what ever is behind it will begin to emerge. |
