My personal experience confirms what you discuss in your post. Because I don't pay attention to the label of being bipolar, I'm able to live normally, work successfully and enjoy my creative side. The proof is that people at work don't know and don't suspect anything. Yes, I have been through periods of "spiritual emergence" and did not work. But overall my life is quite "normal" on the outside. The cost is that I have to stay on a very expensive medication that is excellent and with minimum side effect. I would love to learn how to live without any medication.

Thanks Maya for that feedback! Not being bipolar myself, I get really cautious trying to speak for bipolar people.

Please check out my bipolar friend Sean Blackwell here...his Youtube videos are outstanding. And also look for Dr. Grof's book on Part 2. Bipolar 1 Disorder with Sean Blackwell - Profound-Self-Help.com

On Sean's Message Board, there's a lot of conversation about meds and stuff. I sincerely would get to know his work and let him lead you to more resources. Ok?

I see a huge problem where school kids, with all their pure energy, are trained to sit obediently in a classroom all day. I see where ADHD and bipolar kids simply can't (and ahouldn't) contain that beautiful energy, that obedience to a system is not real living.

I think the way kids are educated is so unnatural and harmful. Creativity is the essence of life and obedience training really is training that prevents that creative spirit from blooming. Instead the creativity is used trying to find ways to escape the oppression.
