Default Addiction to love?

Hello everybody!

Lately I've been having this crazy feeling that I need to feel loved and love at the same time. I really feel forced to do it.
I had / have a crush on a TV character, something that I just can't get over, but it doesn't really affect me in life. At least not in my professional life.

I wish to be with this person and I've had some dreams about her. I feel like I need to be atached to her, but I don't want to. I'm trying to get rid of this lousy feeling, since it never gets satisfied.

Any tips on how to tackle this issue? Thanks

If one continues to allow the minds filter, ego, to be in charge, suffering will follow in the wake.

There are some websites about love addiction. A Brighter Tommorrow is a good one. They have a forum and you can discuss with others what you are going through.

It basically boils down to this. Many love addicts did not recieve the love and attention they needed from infancy and thus are trying to constantly fill this "empty hole" deep inside themselves. It's called hunger attachment.

The way out is to give yourself the love that you are longing for. Doing nice things for yourself, paying attention to your thoughts and your needs. The focus on this character is to avoid your own thoughts and feelings which are uncomfortable. So the answer is to let yourself be aware of what you have been trying to avoid.
