as far as i see it, complaining is a habit - a habit we should change if we want happier lives. here's a strategy i saw somewhere doing a while back: everytime he would complain, he'd give a quarter to the person he was complaining to, and would tell people what he was doing so they could get a quarter if they caught him complaining. (it goes without saying the difference between a non-constructive "complaining", and "sharing one's feelings".) i'm going to start this today (with a monthly ceiling of $20). i'll report back after some time how it went (if if i give up..hehe). i've love to ready about other's people go at this though! if you're going to try it (or any variation of this) or have tried it previously, please share |
