First, people will stop looking at your threads if they have trouble reading them, so try to use more proper grammar and spelling. Second, I think it's pretty common for people with everything (materially speaking) to feel unhappy. Nothing is wrong with you, or at least nothing that isn't wrong with a great many other people. You're not the only person with these questions or feelings, and it doesn't make you a bad person if you don't appreciate what you have. Appreciation is something that you should either have naturally, or not have at all. Faked or forced appreciation is a lie that nobody should have to listen to or tell. From the way it sounds, the first thing you have to do is accept the emotional place that you are at, instead of hating yourself for it. |

It's too bad you feel like that but lots of good people are probably in the same situation. Having said that, I don't buy it at all that nothing makes you happy. Many people think this because they don't feel that they have the opportunity to be happy because of whatever circumstances they are in. This is understandable but also realize that nobody is going to hand you 'happiness' on a silver platter. This is something that we all have to get on our own. Ask yourself this question --- if you didn't have to worry about money, health or any responsibilities for a week, and you had the complete freedom to do whatever you want, whenever you want -- how would you spend your days? Don't take this type of question too lightly. Really think about it and give yourself the creative permission to daydream a bit with this. Your answers if honestly given, will be hints at what would make you happy. Then it's a matter of taking responsibility to work towards achieving that life for real. |

David, Have you always been unhappy? There must be something that triggered this in you. An incident mostly unpleasant is what I suspect. It is not uncommon for incidents to have adverse effects in our life. Some of them can be very life changing in good as well as bad ways. If you find your daily life as boring, volunteering and meeting some new people is not a bad option. You will get a chance to interact and make new friends and stay engaged with some activity without giving your mind a chance to think about unhappiness. |
