Hi everyone, It's been a few days since my visit to Las Vegas for the Subjective Reality Workshop and I have finally had a chance to say a little about it so here goes. This was my first time taking a workshop of this kind, or any other, and I made it my intention to immerse myself into the experience as much as possible. I really got a lot out of it! In summary, over the first and second days Steve guided us into the mindset that we are living in a kind of lucid dream or computer simulation. He clarified how we often view the world through an objective lens. However from a subjective standpoint, all things, all people, our beliefs, experiences, emotions and memories exist within this simulation.. As for exercises we practiced how to interact with one another as if everyone were dream characters or part of our, "simulation". He even taught us some interesting and playful ways to use the simulation to attract what we wanted. By our third day we learned to combine our subjective and objective filters. Some of the exercises I especially enjoyed over the weekend was when we walked around with a sign telling each person (or dream character) specifically what we wanted to have, as if we were putting in a request with a computer. Another exercise which was my favorite but initially challenging, was messing with the general public in a playful and fun way in order that we get the idea that it's really only part of our dream. I think this was probably the funniest and scariest part of the weekend for many of us. As for everyone who was there, I found them to be very positive, warm and fun to interact with. Even the ones who I were initially resistant to became actively enthusiastic just for me naturally. In fact I could feel by the energy of the room that everyone really wanted to be there. It was very high vibration. And of course, the dream hugs" were nice Also that weekend I made several new friends, experienced several lucid dreams, had many feelings of deja vu, not to mention a multitude of synchronicity, more so than normally. I also interacted with Steve, and Erin as though I knew them already. They were acted almost exactly the way I imagined. I guess that's what the simulation created according to my expectations. At the end of the workshop upon returning home I suddenly became very frustrated. Remembering my job and the people I work with made me sadder than usual. Before I left, everything was fine but upon return, I felt almost spiteful instead of grateful as I normally am. From an objective viewpoint maybe I am just coming down from a high. From a subjective viewpoint, maybe it's feedback from the simulation that I really want change. I will try to hold a subjective mindset as long as I can. Finally. If anyone here is reading this, I highly recommend you attend one of future SR workshops, or any other CG workshop with the intention to get the most our of it. If you are reading this thinking you already know this stuff, you will find it is so much different when you live it, so please consider attending one if you can. I plan on dreaming myself at the next one. Last edited by Perry M; 10-26-2011 at 04:30 PM. |

In particular there is some mass friending and virtual hugging going on in Facebook right now-not sure if you're part of it already, but if you like you can feel free to friend me (I couldn't find you on FB if you are there) and that should help you find the other attendees. All the best! Love, Satvik

Yes, I can but it seems like my brain is only now starting to take in the effects of it. It's only today that I am really beginning to feel the effects. I would like to continue posting more about this throughout the week.
