Default Refocusing Your Mind

WHAT ARE YOU FOCUSED ON?

The WordReference.com dictionary defines the term ‘Focus’ as the center of activity or interest.

Why is focus so important? This is simple, your focus determines your outlook on life. Just like having a destination when driving a car, your focus will be your guidance as to where you are going in the short term and ultimately long term.

You can easily tell what your focused on by becoming more aware of it. Learning to witness your own thoughts when they are getting slightly out of control is a great way to change your focus, but there is another approach that can significantly assist in achieving a clear and calm mental state in addition to any desired focus.

REFOCUSING YOUR MIND?

Well the best way to refocus your mind is through the process of asking yourself questions. Ask questions such as, “What am I focusing on?”, to yourself and you can eventually become more aware of what your present focus is. Awareness, in and of itself, is transformative; therefore, whatever you put awareness upon; if it doesn’t serve you, will fade away.

In attempting to find the answers you may have to ask yourself questions for awhile until your mind finds the answers for you. By asking these questions you are telling your mind, like typing in words into a search engine, of what you want your mind to find and what results you want to come back for you. You could change your focus by asking, “How can I focus on _________?” or “How can I achieve_______?” and fill it in with whatever you want to put your attention on; most likely something that you want, such as an outcome, a good mood, an object, or happy thought. Asking yourself questions is possibly the best way to change your focus. As the experts say, your focus determines your reality.

If you take the time to change your focus to what you want in life every time you notice yourself focusing on what you don’t want then through time you will be reprogramming your subconscious blueprint to one that will assist you in getting what you want rather than one that will be resisting what you want.
