I used to think ignorance was better than knowledge, but then this talking snake tricked me into eating a piece of fruit, and it totally changed my views on the matter.

Fear of what knowledge? Fear itself is ignorance

I think ignorance is fear. Ignorance is sticking to what you believe, and not accepting anything else - in fear that you might be wrong and things as you know them are wrong, whether it's conscious or subconscious. This could be in many ways; disproving a belief, to stop stereotyping and judging, to question reality with an open mind, etc.

So it really is no better living in one or the other because they're basically synonymous.
