Default Wow, I wasn't expecting this...

Finished my first summer session today and officially have a little over a week off.

And, for the first time in my life I'm actually sad about that. I can't actually remember a time when I was sad about having time off. Such a weird experience. Although I can say its nice to have a little breather to get oriented.

I loved being in school. I wasn't that excited about breaks either.

School is not just a place for studies and exams. If you use it right, it's a great social place. That's why even little kids who are so happy to be out of school right now soon realize that they will miss their friends.

Hopefully, you can make efforts to connect with your friends from school over the summer.

I would like to tell you that James81 is a teacher, not a student
Never mind this message if you already knew that.

Oops, my error then. In any case, enjoy the summer then as it's a time to do other things that perhaps one didn't have time during the rest of the year. If for those who just can't get enough of teaching, there's always summer school posts I guess.

I'm actually a student in a teaching program. I have a week off and then I start into another round of summer classes for the program, so I won't be getting the summer off this year. Just a week or two here and there.

I wasn't necessarily looking for advice so much as to just gush a bit about how I've finally found a career path that really resonates with me. (My sadness was actually a form of gushing, as crazy as that sounds. It's nice to finally enjoy what I'm doing career-wise.)

All the power to you. Incidentally, what I noticed when I was a student at university taking the odd summer course, is that the profs during summers are really good and that they seem to really enjoy teaching. This was the same with high school summer classes. So many of those who really enjoy teaching and can't get enough of it, don't take the entire summers off.
