Default Each of us, has our own unique personal development technique

I'm interested to see that there's a lot of people that think there is one difinitive answer to how ones life can be better. But then I was thinking about it today and came to the conclusion that there is no right or wrong answer and that maybe each of us have or own personal development personality, and we need to figure out how we can access our own unique PD to reach our fullest potential.

It's like we have our own individual mentor/angel/energy/god etc whatever you want to call it and we need to go on a journey to find how we can realease and use this energy to help us with our life. All of us have it, but we just don't realise how to unlock it, but as soon as we unlock it, it's all very clear and you can develop your own skills in PD.

I must say I do get some great tips on this site, but at the end of the day I can't say that I believe agree with everyone statements and beliefs, including Steve's. What's been beneficial about this site, is that has made me become more aware on my true self and also my spiritual/energy side of things and for that I am truley greatful.

However, I also need to take information with a grain of salt and believe in "me "and my ability to build my own unique development skills.

Personal growth is mostly the result of tiny steps… rather than giant leaps… or earth shattering breakthroughs… it is usually those small distinctions that eventually make a big difference…

PD is a lifelong quest… and not an intensive weekend effort… that is why I believe that it is important to have “personal growth” as one of our top priorities or values… that way, we are constantly on the look out for whatever could help us to evolve and grow…

Whenever I study an important book on PD, I highlight the important passages with a yellow marker… later, I write those passages in a Word.doc to be transfered into my Palm… it can then be used anytime for a quick review…

This process has many advantages… first, when you type down those passages you get to spend more than on the subject matter… and many time you find out that the passage had been misread and that it hold and entire different meaning than you previously had attributed to it…

Second, some times when you re-read those passages you
discover a minute distinction that had escaped your attention thus far… and that minute distinction can make a huge difference…

Alexis Carrel, author of 'Man the Unknown' wrote, “Man cannot remake himself without suffering, for he is both the marble and the sculptor.

Suffering may be too strong a word… but evolving certainly does take a lot of hard work… time and patience…

If we had only one way of solving our life problems we would be nothing more than Orwel's 1984 drones..

I think each person finds the best techniques for him/herself and I think that's the best way since we are all so different.

I agree in general to what you've said, though I'd take this point even further by saying that there is no "thing" to find or unlock. At least, nothing more than an understanding of ourselves, and that happens over time.

Some realisations can seem fantastic, and it appears they suddenly changed us in that moment, but as Shamou said, there truly is a process of small steps occurring, sometimes we're just not aware of it.
