Hello There are only a few things in life that really drive me emotionally - video games, females, competition, other??? If I wanted to become passionate about being healthy, how would I go about doing that? I am already healthy, just the driving force behind my actions isn't too strong and I can slip up often. I want to really push myself the the extreme of health to obtain the extreme of benefits. Thanks gang... |

I'd try to get as many informations about the subject I want to become interested in. Most thing can be very, very interesting - we only know so little about them! Then, you could use positive affirmations to achieve your goal ("self-suggestion" if you like), keep lists on why it is good AND interesting to be healthy, incorporate habits into your dily life to make you even healthier to achieve harmony between your goals/mindset and lifestyle. |

Passion deals wtih the heart chakra, when you're passionate about something you're putting your heart and soul into it. Maybe you should ask yourself each day in the morning..."where does my Joy say I should go?" Keep coming from the heart....and you'll find your passion! As for the health thing... the quickest way to get into that is to find somebody else out there who's very passionate about health... and then help them in someway, join their organization or become their assistant or do volunteer work for them... etc. Last edited by AngelPsychic444; 03-10-2011 at 06:43 AM. |

Thank-you everyone for your replies! Cran, I particularly like your idea of immersing yourself completely in subject topic - it makes sense! AngelPsychic, I believe in chakra's, and I do get the sense that something you're passionate about you invest yourself in completely with little effort. However, I'm not very in-touch with my emotions. I actually don't know what I really want - and I'm not quite sure how to find out. Help? supertom, i've never heard of it put in that way! positive emotions arise when you put energy into something... some food for thought. Why focus your energy on small tasks? Aren't big tasks also something you invest your energy into? |

So you look like him when he starred in The Way of The Dragon, eh? Most of my exercises are based around the techniques he describes in The Way of Expressing the Human Body

First, a question: What do video games, competition, and females all have in common to you? What is the common need those things are fulfilling? Also: Do you think that being passionate is about pushing yourself? Is that what passion is to you? Pushing yourself to the extreme? |

James81 -- video games, competition and females are all... challenging and stimulating, are my strengths, produce positive endorphins or joy during the process, ... They allow me to prove my worthiness as I achieve greatly through unorthodox thinking and hard-work. (Ahhhh, some insight! As a child, I wasn't acknowledged and often rejected. I became shy and only until recently have I regained 'normal' confidence) Do you think that being passionate is about pushing yourself? I think being passionate is about being strongly emotionally driven towards a particular activity. You have strong reasons and feelings which are a positive drive for you. Is that what passion is to you? Read above. Pushing yourself to the extreme? You'll see my previous passions, video games, competition and females, have all involved me in pushing myself to the extreme. I don't feel neutral about the activity associated and have a casual turn with a conservative energy approach, I dive right in on all fronts and invest great deals of energy as I am strongly driven to do the best I can. As you saw above, they all 'prove my worthiness' which is done by displaying extraordinarily good results. They show that I make a big impact. By pushing myself to the extreme on the health front, I'll have more energy to invest into my daily life and specific activities. Just to let you know, I feel driven to be healthy and I'm quite healthy compared to most people I know. I just wanted to give it that extra oomph and ride even higher than the pack!

Personally, after various attempts to live in a more healthy manner (eating, excersize, etc.), which I've been reasonably successful doing, I've found that I always need to focus on the activities that I find interesting - so for example, going to the gym is something I've always found boring, but swimming I've always enjoyed. So even though loads of my friends go to the gym, I focused on going swimming regularly - and that has worked for me. Same with food: I didn't try to eat in a way that was only about health, rather I started by focusing on the things I already liked eating that I knew were healthy, then expanded from there. |

I personally don't think you can force yourself to become passionate at something. It has to come to you naturally. One back door way that might work however is to find something related or connected to health that you might be passionate about and this might give you enough incentive overall to embrace health in general. For me, I am not necessarily passionate about weight training, ab exercises, cardio, etc. However, I train with weights twice per week all year as well as the rest of my workout programs the other days. I've been doing this for decades but it's not that I'm passionate about bench presses or bicep curls. Instead, it's because in my case, I'm passionate about skiing and martial arts. I want to be able to maintain a certain skill level in those activities and I know that keeping fit will help me do that. So this gives me enough incentive to continue with weights and other general fitness exercises that I might not be really passionate about. So for you, see if you could find related areas that you might already be passionate about and go from there to hopefully motivate yourself in regards to health. |

I think that a lot of the times people seek out one thing they are passionate about - - but in reality, we are passionate about a lot of different things. I deliver a free 20 part email course to my subscribers on finding your passion and it's amazing to hear that people really do have more than one....and what I typically find is that they are actually looking for one single passion so they can use it to do meaningful work and create a living (which I agree with). So they take all their passions and find the one that would work out financially and the others are hobbies and ways to immerse themselves to find what I call 'true bliss' -sjk |

I find it best to just dive in! Start reading, learning, and doing all that you can in the field you want to build passion/interest in.. I tend to find that once you start learning more and more about a specefic topic your interest in that topic tends to grow and grow. Perhaps, you could buy a few health related magazines.. or join a few health forums. or join a fitness center.. the more you get involved in the health industry the more your interest in the field should grow. . Writing Goals is also a great way to build interest. Write down your goal and do one thing you think will bring you closer to your goals each day. ... |
