Train yourself step-by-step to ignore distractions. Work in a room away from distractions that remind you of other thoughts apart from the task at hand. The best thing to do would be to possibly surround yourself with like-minded people such as in a library and study there. Remember why you are studying and what goal you are trying to achieve by doing so. That will motivate you to focus on what needs to be done so you can achieve your goal.

This is somin I picked up from the Photoreading course dealio. Prepare to study. Just stop for a second before you get started and say something like, "I am studying in a very concentrated manner for 30 minutes." Its a bit like affirmations/purpose rolled into one.
