It usually takes a big emotional crisis of our own to start striving to do that sort of thing -- not that Steve hasn't been through crises, but perhaps not a type of crisis where he realized how hurtful he can come across, even when he's trying to be positive and take others' feelings in account ("I'm not trying to single out the OP, but I'm linking to her post on my immensely popular blog and criticizing her approach anyway"). Whatever.

To clarify, it was absolutely not hurtful to me. I learned long ago to not be effected by people that I don't care about (people I'm not close to personally). It could have been embarrassing, but thanks to the anonymity of the internet, that isn't an issue either. No single person knows-it-all. That is all I think about his reference to my post.

I relate to this person because I know what emotional abuse is like. I know what it's like to feel "broken" and, to act like a person is stupid for venting their pain?

I have received advice like that, that I was stupid for venting and should only focus on the positive, but you know what, maybe some people have a mental and emotional need to vent more than other people. And from what I've found venting has emotional and mental benefits. <3
I fully agree. Before I used to believe that simply thinking positive would fix everything. It didn't. It just me made feel like I had bipolar.
Now I realize I have to deal and neutralize my negative emotions as well hence why I use EFT and the Sedona method.

1. You're skilled. You can always market your skills and get paid for them.

2. Your family is sucking you dry, emotionally. At some point you'll have to accept that THEY are responsible for their decisions, NOT YOU.

3. Let the lawsuit go. Fighting never solves any problems.

Well, I'm glad you're experienced enough with life not to take it personally, because it wasn't meant that way. It's just that this is a tendency of Steve, and in the past, others have not handled it that well. I think if I were in those peoples' places emotionally, I wouldn't have handled it well, either.

You're stronger than you realize.
