Thanks for the empathy!

I took several career tests online and all of them came back the same: I like to help others and counseling, housekeeping, and an aide would be perfect for me.

I either want to counsel or work with the elderly, preferably both. I am passionate about giving joy and kindness to others and growing relationships.

While, I thought being by myself walking dogs would be ideal, it isn't feeding the passion.

I am going to apply for a home aide to assist the elderly and a couple counseling positions. My mother has a genuine care and compassion for the elderly and I picked this up since childhood. I feel so good taking care of the elderly and I am very happy doing it.

I have a few side projects going on and they periodically get stalled simply because I'm in a not-so-great mood. I'm sure many of you can relate.

The only thing that eases the anxiety and frustration I feel is to see it as a challenge. In other words, I see it as an opportunity to watch my emotional state and to practice controlling my actions toward this job and in general. Sometimes I win, sometimes I don't... but I've been getting better at staying positive more often. If I can take anything away from this job, it's some sense of emotional mastery.
thanks! I definitely know what you mean and I have begun to say to myself, "how is this job improving my weaknesses? How is this job improving me?"
