Inner Hostility Towards Ceremony?

I'm partially thinking out loud, so please excuse me if I ramble. But for the past few days I've attended...functions...for lack of a better word in order to learn more about Kappa Kappa Psi, the national band fraternity. But for some reason, I've found myself very, irritated at the ceremonial aspects. There are many factors that could contribute to this, it was late, they wouldn't tell us what to expect, ect.

I'm just a little confused as to why I've been so put off about it. It feels like there's something going on that I'm not entirely conscious of...something about the ceremony aspect that bothered me, but I can't understand why. anyone willing ot throw out ideas would be very appreciated.
