Default An interview with the happiest man in the world

The Independent published an interesting interview today with what US neuroscientists have declared as the happiest man they have ever tested. Itīs a good read and, also, I was wondering if anyone has tested the MBSR: Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction tapes, developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn at Massachusetts University that Matthieu Ricard recommends at the end of the interview?

Hereīs the link:

Excellent interview. I've put the book on hold at my local libary. He really does make a good point about how you relate to the outside world is what determines your happiness.

He reminds me very strongly of Eckhart Tolle - particularly the part of about people being 'beggars' looking outwards for happiness when they have been 'sitting' on it all along.

I'm definitely going to buy his book when it comes out. Definitely sounds like a consciousness raiser.

I have not tested the tapes, but I'm familiar with the work through reading Full Catastrophe Living and Coming to Our Senses. Both books I highly recommend - even without the tapes, they brought healing and peace. I imagine the tapes would deepen that experience.

Gassho~
