Default Fear of Death Preoccupation

I've been preoccupied with contemplating my own mortality. I feel my parents inching closer and closer so perhaps that is making me wonder about my own. I know no one knows their time, which leads to leading life to the fullest, but yet it doesn't seem to empower me any.

Perhaps I'm looking at this the wrong way?

Default The Denial of Death

Read this book "The Denial of Death" by Ernest Becker, it may give you some insights.

The permanence of life is an illusion. Stop disempowering yourself with the belief that anything in reality is permanent. Embrace every moment of joy that you can squeeze out of life.

Trust me when I say that death is not "the end" - it is a transmutation of our existence into another form.

Actually this is incorrect.. we all CHOOSE our time.. DEATH is a choice.. regardless of how it's presented by SOME in our current reality.. just as living is a CHOICE now..

However.. I understand it's common place in our society to INVALIDATE truths.. even if this is one.. (deep, deep in your core.. heart of hearts you know it's true.. if you read it and felt a little positive tug, it's a hint )

But if you can't take this approach.. then use philosophy..

Do you want to spend your life afraid?
Do you want to live every day like it's your last?
Or would you still choose this day to not talk to the guy/gal you like? Not smell the roses? Not leave your bedroom? Not perform a expression that is you? (the list goes on and on)

Here's my suggestion.. actualize your reality to the best of your ability.. and have fun..
