Default Fight between my thoughts

Hi All

Please help me.

I am going through some depression for the past few days. I do not know how to solve it. There are so many priorities and I do not know how to categorize it.
I am going through lot of things in my mind. "I am guilty. I betrayed the loved ones. I am going to cause trouble to my loved ones." Everyday, early morning, I wake up with lot of insecure feelings and fear of what is going to happen.

I try to read lot of books, browsing, walking, going to library.
But no matter what, am depressed.
I know happiness is within, but I could not focus on anything.
I want a solution but could not concentrate in meditation, because after 5 mins of going through my thoughts, I end up in sobbing and weeping.

I want to come out of it as soon as possible and want to find a solution to my problem.

Please help me, dear friends.
I would really appreciate it.

PS: Mods, if this is whining against forum rules, I apologize. But this post is just the outlet of my fears and worries. Thanks for approving it.

It sounds like some sort of crisis. Have you considered professional help? A counselor, a therapist?

It's OK. I'm sure it's not as bad as all of that. You seem like a sensitive person, so you probably are feeling a temporary lowness.

There are plenty of good folks here. We can help. We care.

I know how you feel (I think) I have felt the same in the past.

What I have done is given myself permission to do absolutely nothing for a few days up to a week. Do not read self help books, or do anything useful.

Just watch stupid tv, cry whenever you feel like it, eat junkfood etc. Basically, just give yourself a time out. A rest period.

After that week, slowely start to change 1 thing at the time. For example, start eating healthy again. Once you are there, change the second thing, for examply start doing excersise.

In the beginning do things that do not require you to think. Do not try and "improve" yourself. You are good the way you are, you just need a time out.

After eating healthy and exercising try and change a third thing, for example watching interesting show on tv instead of sitcoms or Oprah...

Fourth thing can be to try and meditate again. Use guided meditations at first if you cannot keep your attention on your own.

Only when you feel comfortable with 1 thing should you move on to the next.

Always cry when you feel like it. Give yourself permission to feel bad and you will see that it will pass so much sooner than if you try to fight it.

This is what I did to climb out of the hole. I had my husband who helped me very much. Try and tell at least a few persons around your who will understand and help you.

You are not alone. There are other people who have gone trourgh this and come out on the other side. So will you.

Depression is a biochemical cheat.
Your brain is driven by biochemical reactions that determine your mood and your vision of life.

The real world is the world you see when you are happy.
But when brain enters a state of imbalance, biochemistry creates you the illusion you are living, some sort of veil that prevents you to see this happy reality.

I will tell you when depression will end.
It will end you feel bored of feeling sad, so the only alternative you will have is to feel happy.
You do not need to fight to get out of it, just to feel this huge and absolute sense of boredom that comes from deep in your soul, boredom towards depression.

What I do when depressed is to try to "enjoy" and learn from depression as much as I can, until I feel bored. With the word "enjoy" I mean to experience the emotion without resistance, just accpeting it, until I get to feel bored of this feeling.

No matter what I feel, I am certain that the only true reality is the happy one. And I try not to act, hurt or vent emotions on other people while I am in that state of mind. that way, when I go back to the happy world, the reality is intact.

Thanks a lot friends for your replies.
It really soothes me.

Yesterday, evening, I was getting better and slept well. In the morning, I talked to myself, seeing my eyes. Everything went fine. Then, talked with my mom, sisters. I felt there is a barrier between us. No longer they love me.
Then, again I went through all this. Now, I gathered myself to write a reply here.

Thanks again everyone, for your kind words.

Repeatedly said,"Everything is fine".
Then had a good sleep till 7 00.
Small success....

try not to wallow, it only makes things worse. I think everyone has low moments, and its usually happens when i stray from path. i.e "Where I am now, is not where i want to be." I find it really helpful to just brainstorm reasons you think you are unhappy, and take any immediate steps toward any of the goals, for me, i try to hit the gym alot too, usually helps alot.

Change is driven by the unhappiness of knowing that we are not currently where we want and we can improve.

Here's one simple yet very effective thing you can do: music video meditation which I call Natural Grounding (the concept originally came from a friend of mine).

Your state of mind is affected by what you pay attention to, and watching music videos that have a purity in it really lifts you. If you get into tears, that's alright, it's just stuck emotions being released.

That technique is much more powerful than what I'm describing here and there's a lot to talk about here, but to keep it simple just take an hour watching these videos alone at your home.

I watch these videos half an hour a day to bring my state of mind to a peak while doing visualizations, and I can guarantee you it can lift you out of depression.

These videos come from Thailand and Korea. It's better to have the original CDs which you can buy for cheap, but for now you can look on YouTube. Here are just a few of the songs.
