The Earth is largely made up of it. As are we… And yet about it we know significantly little. Until the groundbreaking work of a pioneer Japanese researcher whose astonishing discovery about water, documented photographically, changed most of what we didn't know…and led to a new consciousness of Earth's most precious resource. Dr. Masaru Emoto was born in Japan and is a graduate of the Yokohama Municipal University and the Open International University as a Doctor of Alternative Medicine. His photographs were first featured in his self-published books Messages from Water 1 and 2. The Hidden Messages in Water was first published in Japan, with over 400,000 copies sold internationally. ![]() Water crystal exposed to the phrase “family love” What has put Dr. Emoto at the forefront of the study of water is his proof that thoughts and feelings affect physical reality. By producing different focused intentions through written and spoken words and music and literally presenting it to the same water samples, the water appears to "change its expression". ![]() The crystalline structure produced in water by heavy metal music. Essentially, Dr. Emoto captured water's 'expressions.' He developed a technique using a very powerful microscope in a very cold room along with high-speed photography, to photograph newly formed crystals of frozen water samples. Not all water samples crystallize however. Water samples from extremely polluted rivers directly seem to express the 'state' the water is in. ![]() Dr. Masaru EmotoWater… Dr. Masaru Emoto discovered that crystals formed in frozen water reveal changes when specific, concentrated thoughts are directed toward them. He found that water from clear springs and water that has been exposed to loving words shows brilliant, complex, and colorful snowflake patterns. In contrast, polluted water, or water exposed to negative thoughts, forms incomplete, asymmetrical patterns with dull colors. The implications of this research create a new awareness of how we can positively impact the earth and our personal health. The success of his books outside Japan has been remarkable. Dr. Emoto has been called to lecture around the world as a result and has conducted live experiments both in Japan and Europe as well as in the US to show how indeed our thoughts, attitudes, and emotions as humans deeply impact the environment. ![]() Mozart Symphony ![]() Heavy Metal music ![]() The crystalline structure of "Love and Gratitude." ![]() bookcover |

I hope water doesn't have feelings, because whenever I go to the beach I always punch the waves.

I'm not totally convinced by those, either. What he is saying does make a certain amount of sense, though... and even if water didn't work this way... it is clear to me that most humans do. keep smiling, Ben

It wouldn't have feelings like people, or even animals, but it does have expressions. Where these expressions come from, I have no idea, but it's the same as clouds, or sunsets. We humans see more in them that exists. But did that expression exist first, or did a human arrive to see it. In the end, water is very tolerant of us. It continues on as it wishes, through all of our abuses and doesn't stop providing. We perhaps should begin to respect water for the wonder it is, until we find it's too late.

I have read about him, and it all seemed quite possible to me. There's many things that we or core science doesn't yet know, probably in that case having an opened mind will lead us somewhere further. Though, thats just what I believe. I believe his work is also featured in the docu-drama "What the bleep do we know". Quote:

I love Emoto's work. Quote:
I wouldn't describe water as having feelings per se, but I would describe it as having consciousness.

There is presence (or God, or the Tao) in everything, and some things are more complex in their manifestations than others. I believe that above all, water has wisdom. Water always yields and is highly versatile, it conforms to any shape, however yielding makes it strong, because you cannot cut it or hurt it in any way. At the same time, a very strong wave like a tsunami can devastate entire rows of buildings.

I think there is power in understanding and applying the Law of Attraction... but it is frequently taught poorly, and many of the students of this method are rather 'fluffy' thinkers... who don't seem to be getting any of the outcomes they say they are after. And their 'stamp of approval' on this water research isn't helping it any. But they are enthusiastic, I'll give them that... keep smiling, Ben

| Moderator | It could do. I mean, we are all the same matter in the same universe. We are all made up of molecules, atoms and quarks. The plants we eat and the water we drink become part of us. Our waste becomes part of the world again. Our bodies replace themselves every 7 years. Some of the atoms we have inside us come from supernovae that happened many many thousand light years away. We all live in the same universe, see the same stars in the sky, and share the same basic building blocks.
