Line 8 of the Emerald tablet: "It rises from Earth to Heaven and descends again to Earth, thereby combining within it the powers of both the Above and the Below."

Thoughts about line 8: Every morning the fiery son rises (spring-s) in the east (mind, air, heaven) and sets (falls / autumn) in the west (earth, the material, body). And the evening and the morning makes the "day"... the circle goes unbroken.

Evolutions of the lower materialisms, earth, plant, animal, man....to a higher man, an enlightened mind, no longer just animal reactionary but now HUman self conscious. Enamored with self, this consciousness will devolve into a higher materialism. That brings a darkness that lasts until the next morning, the next level of mind.

Before a sense of self, all was one. After the sense of self, again all will be one.

Matthew 24
27For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.

28For wheresoever the carcass is, there will the eagles be gathered together.

29Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
("Those days" refers to any day of great tribulation. Any person, any church [temple of god], anytime. The person-church has come to its wits end, its extreme state. "The sun" that is darkened refers to the Lord / I-AM. That main light no longer shines. God-love-feeling is no longer be known. "The moon" (the "me" / self) shines by light reflected from the sun....faith, or all our ideas of how things are, will fall into darkness. All the little guides (stars) will fail us. A complete and awesome change.
30And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. (In this extreme state, each shall know THE ROOT of humanness. The person will be in mourning. Reduced to this extreme state, in their cloudy / foggy understanding, shall appear The Grand Man, the only power left. 31And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other. (Out of this Only One, will come powers to rescue the person. What remains of good in the person [the elect] will be united into a One.


This was the extreme limit of loss and something coming from beyond the SELF to rescue the person. It happens to everyone and everything.
