OK, I'm thinking of using EFT mainly to be more confident and overcome social anxiety. I really don't know much about it though? How do I find out more about it? and getting started with it? Information would be much appreciated! |

I love EFT. I chose to do it on my own - primarily because money is in short supply for me at this time. When I have more money I will consult with people. I love that EFT allows me the options. To learn more go to EFT Home - World Center for EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques). |

I love it, too, although when I first tried it -- by following instructions on the website -- I got no results at all, and I thought it was hooey baloney (and I said so here on the forums!). Later, I had an actual human show me how it's done, and suddenly got remarkable results in things like disappearing headaches and cold symptoms, easing anxious feelings, and letting go of persistent thoughts. Someone here on the forums had mentioned that if it didn't work for me then I should try consulting with an expert, and I thought, feh, I shouldn't have to go see an expert. I should be able to learn it on my own. Well, turns out I was wrong about that. So I became an "expert" myself -- I got certified in EFT practice. Now I go around in my daily life showing people how to tap, and I come across a lot of people who tell me the same thing -- they hadn't gotten results when they did it on their own, but having human intervention made a huge difference in getting started with EFT. (I don't charge for that service, by the way -- I just automatically start tapping my karate chop spot as soon as someone complains about something! It has me wondering if there is an extra super-power to be had in realigning the energies in the body by having another human inject their energy into your tapping, at least to get you started. That does make sense to me, in a spooky new age whooo-whooo sort of way Anyway, there are lots of free EFT meet-ups (find them on yahoo or craig's list, etc.) where people will be happy to help you for free. |

I love EFT, but I found it so weird when I discovered it that I couldn't tell anyone about it! I had to do some tapping on that (in private of course) "Even though I feel embarrassed using EFT...." Worked a bit too well, coz now I think nothing of doing a bit of tapping in public. I really recommend working with a friend or practitioner if you are dealing with anxiety issues. They can really hold the space for you and make it safe. They will keep an eye on you and help you tap. If you prefer to go it alone though then I would start with noticing a thought that makes you feel anxious. Focus on where you feel it in your body and tap for that feeling. When you have done 1 round, check again and notice if that feeling has shifted or moved. It could even be more intense, which is good it means the energy is shifting, it just needs more work. Tap on that new feeling until it is zero. It is unlikely to be an instant fix, but keep at it. Am happy to help with set up statements for you if that would be helpful. |

One of my best friends attributes his success to EFT - he did an interview at another of my friends' blog - check it out From $50 to $1Million+ Using EFT (Interview) I've been using the Sedona Method instead of EFT lately and i've found it indescribably helpful. To me it seems like going beyond the emotion instead of getting the emotion under control. Creating from beyond the mind instead of getting the mind to create. ...but i recommend EFT, it has helped tremendously. Check out the work of Carol Look, really powerful stuff. |

Hey guys, Thanks to everyone who replied. It's quite a big thing to dive straight into the deep end with, but have just been looking for a place to sample it out and decide if it's for me or not. my friend on facebook posted a youtube video about EFT. He's a fitness trainer, and life coach kind of character, and I think he is an EFT therapist as well, although I haven't talked to him about that, just knew him from Touch Rugby where I used to play when I lived overseas. He posted an 8 minute video about it, so I'll be able to check that one out to get started in the world of EFT!! |
