Default job!!

I took a new job a few weeks ago due to -what else -no money
I HATE the job
I like my co-workers and my boss directly over me but her boss is anal and a dictator
I promised myself that after my last job expereince that I would never go through this again and I am
in the name of money
If I quit I may not be able to receive unemployment money again and therefore will be out of income
I am not sure what to do
I guess I am just ranting

now I have to go get ready for work

When I'm faced with people like that, the first thing I do is try to find something that we have in common and talk about it. That's how I tame the beast.

Anyway, what are your options?

thanks for the advice
I just realized after I read steve's blog about leveling up and I found this statement-

"You can’t move forward in life by hating where you are."

that this is exactly how I feel-
I hate where I am again ! another lesson learned

Good old subjective reality, when you change your point of you, you can adapt easily in this reality.

^,^

Now that you've learned something, think about options. ^^, there should always be a plan b

Things follow us, our expectations follow us and we find ourselves in the same situations.

But this is a new job, not your life's calling (most likely) and it will be for as long as it is necessary until you find something you like better, which could be extremely soon.

The mistake I made at my last job (I'm still unemployed) after seven years was I thought I was destined to work there for the rest of my life. I had all these horrible visions of how my life would unfold under the stress of that place.

This of course, made it worse, and actually kept me there longer than I needed to be. If could go back in time and do it all over again, I would refuse to become emotionally involved with the politics of the work place. If it is not your life's calling than it is serving it's purpose as a paycheck and possibly, to give you new insight into yourself.

You aren't trapped there. You can quit today if you want. You won't, but you COULD, which means, you are free. You are going there every day by choice.

Remember Steve's blog about being self-employed. You are your own boss. For the time being, you are providing your services to this company, in exchange for monetary compensation. They are your client. Your duty now is to stay strong while you learn everything you can from this experience and search for a new client.

Again, my best advice would be refuse to let your sense of self get caught up in something as small and insignificant as a job that will not last forever. There is more to you than that place. And if you accept the situation, it will most likely change in that spooky way that things change when we stop fighting them.

You hate your job... okay..

Enjoy it, (I think there is some fun in having an anal boss)

Accept it for what it is (Sure an anal boss can get to you, but why not just observe this ego-driven being for what he is... a possessed ego-driven being. Clearly he is an idiot for being anal because he is miserable.)

or,

quit the job (sure no income, but would you rather suffer or be on the streets which of course is suffering if you choose to suffer )

Hi Lifetimelearner,

Just try to ignore the boss that you hate and focus on the other positive side of the job.

I had written an article and you may like to read it to learn how to focus on the positive side of your job. You can read it
here.

Cheers

Thanks for the great tips, everyone. I'm also in a job that isn't exactly fulfilling, though I do enjoy payday (today!). I need to get something going on the side so I can eventually transition to what I want to do (I'm not sure what that is just yet). Bbdreams, I'll read your article on the train ride home.

Yeah, you're just ranting

What do you really want? What is your outcome in all this game called life? As soon as you know, go for it. That's all there is to it, really
