Default How to use fear?

So all these discussions about dakrworkers and how they motivate themselves. One of the reasons I like darkworkers because I lacked motivation so much that I couldn't do anything.

But how do you exactly use fear ?

Because even when I try to use fear, I feel that fear is controlling me instead of me controlling fear!

I think that since you have been going through difficulties where you didn't want to live, you shouldn't put that much pressure on yourself to be motivated yet. Try to find peace of mind first.

sat nam

i donot know anything about darkworkers.but i would like to post on "how to use the fear".....infact one can use any of the "negative" emotions.the key is "non-judgement"...everything is just energy...................maybe that has been said a lots of time before........what i would like to add is ,there is a asana/posture that when practised, literally causes the judgement to fall away.

My advice would be don't use fear for motivation.

I achieve motivation through love. Love of my actions. Love of my potential. Just all round love.

I sounds a bit theoretical, and idealistic. But it really isn't. If you want I could say I enjoy doing things I enjoy, because I enjoy them.

Why would you have to use fear?

Understanding it would probably be the way to go.

Well Steve said that by polarizing toward fear energy, darkworkers can power up their motivations and maximize their powers. But no one ever talks about how to actually use fear instead of being used by it.

One thing I can think of is that you are so afraid of losing your job that you would do whatever to keep it, which is a powerful motivation.

But I don't know exactly what did Steve mean by fear polarized.

Steve uses the example in Polarity and Health

Quote:
Now suppose you are a darkworker, someone who is fear-polarized. And you realize that you need to lose some weight. Your motivation to lose that weight will ultimately come from your commitment to serving your own self-interest. You could care less about being a role model for others, but this extra weight has to go because it’s getting in the way of your goals. You need energy to achieve the success you crave, and a better looking body will make it easier to attract a mate to satisfy your lust. Weight loss may also help you advance in your career. Also, it’s important to be more fit than those around you, since you’re always in competition with them, and extra fitness will give you an edge. The fitness you achieve for yourself is driven entirely by your desire to serve your own needs. How fit or fat other people are is irrelevant, except to the extent that you look better by comparison. This is a very powerful motivator for someone who is truly fear-polarized.
Quote:
Losing weight with fear

Now how would you lose weight with fear polarization? Forget about helping others. This is all about you — your pleasure and your pain. In this case you’ll use fear to create more pressure, so you’re driven to succeed. Once you identify your goal weight, make a bet with someone you dislike that you’ll achieve your goal by a certain date, someone you know will just rub it in your face if you fail. If s/he doesn’t want to bet you, then just promise to pay them if you fail. Make sure there are witnesses. If you have a blog, post a before picture of yourself there, and promise your readers that you’ll reach your goal weight by a certain date and that you’ll post an after picture showing significant weight loss… and if you fail, you’ll post a video of yourself doing something extremely embarrassing. For good measure, promise yourself a vacation or some other reward when your goal is achieved. Think often of how hot you’ll look to members of the opposite sex (or same sex if that’s your preference), and how much better you’ll be at satisfying your lust. Does this help you understand how to use fear polarization to lose weight?

Plain text can’t do justice to polarized intentions, since we’re still reducing energy to content, but I think these examples will help you see the big picture. In each case we’re using polarized energy to make the intention very strong.
I suggest re-reading the polarity articles, it has always seemed like a pretty straightforward concept to me.

You can use it by harnessing it. For example if you have a problem getting work done. Use fear of being caught, fear of losing your job, and fear of being unemployable. Next time when you're handed an assignment, visualize ending up the embarrassment of being caught hiding all the work you didn't do. Use that energy to drive you to action. I think the secret is being able to visualize it and use it constructively, not just letting it paralyze you.

Clear and straight to the point. Thanks a lot!

From my understanding of what's been said in this thread, fear of various things is what motivates darkworkers to do the things necessary to avoid what they're afraid of?

From Steve's writings I have understood how a darkworker can motivate others by use of fear, it's a pretty simple concept that can be developed into a very powerful skill. A prime example of a darkworker is Melkor in Silmarillion (I'm reading that book now, for the second time).

This thread made things a little clearer for me. I realized that darkworking is not for me. Whenever I feel fear, I default to being passive. Fear can barely make me move an inch. It is effective for darkworkers to use fear against me, even if they can't make me do something, they can still keep me from doing things they don't want me to do. Fear is a huge demotivator for me.

So I'm siding with the lightworkers. I need to work on removing the fear from my life so I can get things done.
