| My name is Kristi. I've never posted a new thread before but I feel like I have to find out if there are other people that feel the same as I do. I have just recently discovered Steve and Erin, and all of the many wonderful ideas on this site that I did not know existed. To narrow it down a bit, I am currently intrigued by the Law of Attraction and Lucid Dreaming. To be honest I am not really sure how to react to such things. These ideas are completely overwhelming to me. My whole life I had thought 'This is it. This is all there is to life.' And now, I know there is so much more. I absolutely love learning and now that I know about these wonderful ideas, I can't wait to begin learning more and more. However, I don't know where to start. I am wondering what I should do to begin my personal development, and how I should start broadening my horizons. I appreciate any feedback or ideas you may have!!! THANKS SO MUCH!! |

| My advice in beginning with personal development: Take it slowly at first, as much as you're comfortable with. Each website you visit will no doubt have more links to other things to check out. Then you can go from there. It takes the equivalent of about a day's research for me to find enough info to satiate my cravings for more, but I wouldn't recomend getting overwhelmed! |

| Well, the law of LoA and Lucid Dreaming are very different. The LoA is a pretty heavy viewpoint shift (or it can be; for most people); Lucid Dreaming is just a fun Biological quirk. Given that, I'd recommend you try Lucid Dreaming, and continue reading on both topics and exploring other topics in PD. I'm not sure what Steve and Erin say about trying Lucid dreaming but go ahead and try anything they suggest, and I'd also recommend you take a look at the WikiBook on Lucid Dreaming, it's quite useful, or was when I read it. The best of Luck on your Journey, may you find much happiness, Levent. |

| Hi Kristie, Welcome! Lots of interesting things on this site, and lots of good debates, and people. Have you seen the movie, "The Secret"? It does a really good job of explaining The Law of Attraction, and it can be so much fun, too. You can go to The Secret ::: Official Release of The Secret Movie to find out more about the movie, and how to get it. Happy Personal Developing, and Happy New Year! |

| Kristi, I'm going to go with something completely different and recommend you start with "You." That is, get in touch with your intuition -- your spirit or higher self or whatever you like to call it. Knowing where to start and where to go next can only come from you; all any of us can answer is what we've seen or done. Once you know how to know, you won't have to ask. Plus, once you find that, you'll realize you never really were alone and you were always completely loved, and that never hurts! Best, Andy

| Kristi, Congratulations on becoming aware, I also felt overwelmed when I first realized there was more to life than just waiting to see where life leads me. I wrote an article on my website called "Becoming Aware of the Real World" that explains how I felt when it happened and what to do. Good luck, John

| Im also just learning a lot about myself. I have read the courage to live consciously and found a lot of things in there that i could learn from but now not sure which article would be the best follow on with. A great site this is. A person can grow here. |
