Life is an emotional roller coaster at the best of times. And I have managed to figure this out at the age of 21. But what I have also discovered is that emotions are something you have complete control over. You are the only one that can make yourself happy and you are the only one who can make yourself sad. So in my quest to get a handle on my emotions and to feel good on a daily basis I have found that daily inspiration is essential. So whether that be going for a walk in the mornings, meditating, or just sitting down in a quiet spot for 10-15 minutes can really give a good boost to how the rest of the day will pan out. There is this one movie that I use for my daily inspiration and I wanted to share it with you guys. International Passion Day Movie What are some of the things you guys use for daily inspiration? |

Daily inspiration, I'm thankful for life. We take so much for granted, but life is an adventure, and we are the star of our own show. Too often we try to find a form of escape, whether it is through the media, video games, drugs, and we give up the power we have to make our own lives exciting and interesting. --- On the topic of emotions, I believe that emotions reflect our spirit and our inner core, and are not meant to be controlled but can be managed. At least from my own experience, when I try to change how I feel about something, I start to build resistance to 'what is' and although I might be able to manipulate my thoughts to feel another way - it is just delaying the inevitable. I found that the best way to control my emotions are to surrender to them completely and be honest about why I feel the way I do. Sometimes what we think of as the cause to our turmoil is misguided because of our ego. Being honest with yourself I think is the key. |

To feel inspired I run just for 10 minutes each morning. For me it's like a physical affirmation of thanks to my body that I can move. Petra X | |

I feel that emotions are a natural part of who we are. I don't think it's a bad thing if we feel sad. It normal and natural to feel sad at certain times. What's important is that you can learn from the situation and eventually move on and improve yourself. If your loved one died I would be worried if you tried to stop yourself from being sad, or felt that you needed to control that emotion. The grief is a natural process that you go through, but in the end I hope you could learn something about yourself and grow in a positive way. |

I use music and nature for inspiration. I think that the purpose of music is really to inspire people and manage emotions. (I agree that emotions are not to be controlled but to be managed). I seek out beauty in the world, indulging as many senses as possible. I think being around children is inspiring because they see the world so differently from us and yet that is the way we were meant to be. I think one of the nicest things around is the laughter of a small child. I also look for inspiring quotes that mean a great deal to me. I am also inspired by the great things that people have done in the past, and are doing right now. Being grateful for all your blessings is important too. I like the idea of journaling your emotions in order to be better aware of them and what they mean, and of getting exersise to physically affirm your gratitude for a body that can move around.

Some of the things that have been the hardest emotionally have also been the most enlightening at the end of the road. Quote:
