Default CNN does Happiness

CNN now has a section of articles on scientific investigations of happiness. While I was at the gym I saw some of a televised version of this offering.

Lots of interesting insights.

My favorite part from those articles was when a study found that republicans are happier than democrats, but both are happier than independents.

I noticed that too.

People charge Republicans with not wanting to acknowledge that problems exist and of having an unshaken and unjustified faith in the way things are. I wouldn't say that I agree with that, but if you see everything as being okay you are going to be a happier person.

On the other hand, independents see the whole system, or at least both current choices in parties, as bad. Seeing problems everywhere, would tend to make a person less happy.

Sanjay Gupta did this report in a series, I believe. I love his journalism! He has done some really exceptional work. My favorite thus far is when he explored the mind body connection by going to Kurdistan and integrating into ancient Sufi rituals last year.
