What got me thinking about all of this is the death of someone most dear to me. Before then, I knew that I did not believe in any formal religious beliefs, so I started on some kind of quest for knowledge - I just wanted to know what happened after death, at first. But of course reading about that led me to see that how we live life here in the physical affects the kind of life we lead after our time ends here - which leads to trying to improve myself here in the now.

Loving the posts here!

TheFlyingMan - keep tapping! They may go away altogether. :-) Unfortunately my lovely chiropractor (and naturopath, happy to refer him to locals!) knew what it took me another 12 years to figure out, that yes, I should not have married my ex-husband. I figured it out in the end!
Cela - Your life is blessed!! You're in it!

I am so impressed that so many "young people" are on this site and developing themselves further. So great that you've found your path without being prompted by huge ugly things happening.

JHL - I love your dress sense - do you have photos?

skydust - I agree, "helping" others has a hint of coersion for them or externalising for yourself in it. Neither of which are healthy. Having said that, if people approach me, I'm more than happy to respond.

Joy to all
Hazel

Interesting Question.

I thought about it, and I guess it was stumbling onto Steve's blog in December 2005 that got me started. I found the topics interesting and kept reading and never looked back. I've changed a lot since then, it's strange to think how things would have gone had I not stumbled onto StevePavlina.com, things would be so very different for me now.

I was always naturally interested in million of things, can't define them all with few words. When I bought the modem back in 1999, I soon found myself often reading tons of stuff on the internet. Over time it became major activity on my home PC, completely replacing TV and videogames. I must have read gigabytes of anything since Maybe it's just an "evolved" form of procrastination, but that's another story. I came around Steve's site few months ago, it was the early riser article.

Among most things I enjoy is good discussion, and I remember my frustration after vain attempts to register into kyberia. It was something very resembling this forum already 5 years ago, but registration must be approved by existing members.

Thank God, the time has come and I can be now and here, no strings attached! Thank you all!

Everything seemed to be going ok until one day I realized I wasn't where I really wanted to be and wondered how I could have gotten so off course. A spiritual friend of mine noticed this without ever talking to me about it and gave me a book on the power of the subconscious mind and from the day I started reading that book, my life has just continued to get better and better.

Personal development just becomes a part of your life like eating or sleeping. It has improved the quality of my life and now I enjoy the journey much more. I understand that as difficulties still arise in life I am better equiped to deal with them.

Cheers,
John
