anyone ever tried the colorgenics test? it takes like 10 seconds, no signing up, and gives a very detailed accurate report of your current mood and emotional situation. I recommend it! ::: The Amazing World of Colorgenics ::: |

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble but the information seemed very general. I tried to think in terms of "does this apply to me at all?" as well as "does this apply to me personally?" I came to the conclusion "not really." But still, an ENJOYABLE test with a novel concept.

It was spot-on for me, but that may just be clever generalized wording. I did try some random combinations, which yielded results that weren't as good as the ones that I got, but there was some similarity between most of them. All in all, it worked very well for me.

It basically told me things only I could know. Usually, when you get a freakishly accurate reading, the best thing to do is read the other ones and see if they're also accurate. If they are, it's cold reading. If not, it may still be cold reading, or there may be something behind it. Unfortunately, the site won't load again. Hmm. . . |

Okay, I tried it again. Twice. All three results were very similar. The first was the most accurate, but they all seemed to be talking to the same person in the same situation, with slight variations.

Hmmm. I took it under my current stressed-out mood, and it gave results that were quite accurate concerning my current mood and mindset. Then I retook it as if I was under my ideal mood, and the results were completely different and much more matched with how I'd be under my ideal mood. I think there were some generetic stuff that would apply to everyone, and then some stuff that would apply to that mood. Maybe this test is bogus, but maybe it's more suited for those who tend to be more visual in their orientation as I am? |

Wow, the result I got completely resonated with what I've been dealing with lately. Quote:

I'd like to look at the results for someone else to see if that too fits me. Here's what it said about me. You are a very sensitive person and you try hard (perhaps a little too hard) to make favourable impressions and to be recognised by your peers. But you have that inherent need to feel appreciated and admired and you are easily hurt if all of your endeavours go by unappreciated or not acknowledged. Stop trying so hard. You are very talented, imaginative and sensitive but you are holding back as you do not really like going it 'on your own'. In preference you would like to team up with someone, someone with similar attributes as your own, to explore - to seek out and go perhaps 'where no other man has trod before'. It is the unusual that attracts you and which will give you a sense of excitement and adventure. You are confined and trapped in a distressing or uncomfortable situation and seeking some way out. Whatever you seem to do to resolve the problem hasn't worked out. Fortunately you are able to gain some aspect of relief from someone close to you. You are being unduly influenced by the situation that is all around you. You do not like the feeling of loneliness and whatever it is that seems to separate you from others. You know that life can be wonderful and you are anxious to experience life in all its aspects, to live it to the full. You therefore resent any restriction or limitations that are being imposed on you and you insist on going it alone. You are trying to build up your own position and you resist all external influences. You insist that you are your own person and you will not tolerate any outside interference. Decisive and proud, you are true managerial material. |

I didn't understand the concept of being in harmony with colours. I chose the ones I like. Maybe that's what it meant. Most of the results could be applied to me but only if a lot of benefit of the doubt was given - i.e. "Well, it could mean that, which would fit". Graham |

I also felt it--or at least my reading--had a very remedial focus. I'm not quite used to that, and the Maximiser me isn't a fan. I prefer more positively, optimistically phrased things that slant towards improvement and betterment rather than dwell on your current situation or the negative aspects of life. Here's the reading I got: Quote:

I found it hard to do this, and maby that's why I didn't get very convincing results. But still, cold reading is very powerful. YouTube - Derren Brown - Cold Reading |
