Default Emotional Maintenance Rookie . . .

So I recently started T Robbins' personal power II audio program. I was so charged up for the first two weeks of the program that I though I could take over the world.

Now, for some reason I can't quite figure out, I've sunk to the depths of discouragement and apathy. This is not the first time this has happened. Am I bipolar? I really don't think so . . . I can usually control my states, as Tony puts it, but every once in a while I get to a place where I don't feel like it's worth it. I also feel a little afraid to get myself pumped up, like I'm going to go crazy.

Does anyone have any experience with this? I'm determined to get through the rest of the program, but I haven't been moving forward for the past three days or so. I have a feeling that my problem has something to do with my task of figuring out my values, beliefs, and goals. Damn. I don't know what I want! I guess that's probably depressing me?

Is state management like exercising? I mean, the more often I get myself pumped up and happy, will it get easier over time? Or am I just flushing my brain with chems all at once only to face the effects of the depletion afterwards?

Any experience/advice out there for me? Thank you. You all rock.

Adam

Yes I've done that program. I've gotten myself to feel on top of the world....then crash. I've done that many times trying to make the program work.

For a long time, I thought something was wrong with me. Afterall, that program should work for everyone, right? One day though, I read Steve's post and it made a lot of sense why it wouldn't work for me permanently: Motivation for Smart People (Sans Chest Pounding)

So, I'd say get away from the Tony Robbins programs if it doesn't work for you. While it may work for some, it does not work for everyone.
