Default Joyous heavy mood-boosting music?

Does anyone have any recommendations for joy-inducing, mood-improving music?

I'm a fan of heavyish music (Within Temptation, Linkin Park[1] etc.) but it tends to be fairly negative. Any recommendations for positively-toned heavy music?

Thanks.

[1] Yes, I know they're not the best band ever - let's refrain from disagreeing with my musical tastes, please.

Try giving Spirit Never Die by Masterplan a listen. It's one of my favourite songs and it fits your description pretty well.

Surprisingly, I can't think of that many songs which match this exact description, of being heavy and also joyous/mood-lifting.

Legally downloadable video game music remixes by amateur video game music remixers:

Solstice remix: Catacombs Beneath the Twilight by Ryan8bit

Dragon Spirit remix: Wings of Gold, by virt Starts out pretty ominous but gets happy later.

Super Mario Bros remix: The Mushroom Kingdom Skate Park, by CarboHydroM.

Chrono Trigger remix: The Incredible Singing Robot, by StarBLaSt

Legally downloadable other song:

Orgone Accumulator, performed by Robert Calvert & The Maximum Effect

Other music:

The track "Down" by 311 from the CD "Live From 6A: Great Musical Performances from Conan O'Brien"

"Mirror" by Gackt

"Twin-Allergy" by the band Narcissus

"Summoned Beast Battle", from the video game Final Fantasy 10. Not sure who the composer is.

"Apoplexy" by Hitoshi Sakimoto, from Final Fantasy Tactics

"Quina", by Nobuo Uematsu, from Final Fantasy 9

"Opera Grand Finale" by Nobuo Uematsu, from Final Fantasy 6

"Urban Noise" by Yoko Shimomura, from the video game Parasite Eve

Powerful and uplifting?

That's Queen.

Besides Queen, the obvious Beethoven Ode To joy. And rock in general instead of heavy metal. Or "happy heavy metal" instead of dark one, like AC/DC Highway to Hell, but mostly Queen, you just have to see Freddie live to see what I mean.

for instance...

YouTube - Queen - One Vision (High Quality)

YouTube - QUEEN - I WANT IT ALL (HIGH QUALITY AUDIO)

YouTube - Queen - We Will Rock You High Quality

YouTube - QUEEN - TIE YOUR MOTHER DOWN (HIGH QUALITY AUDIO)

YouTube - Queen - Keep Yourself Alive (high Quality)

YouTube - Queen - Innuendo (high Quality Stereo)

and this not of my fav songs, but this live performance is just that...

YouTube - Sheer Heart Attack (Queen on fire live at the Bowl 1982)

Killswitch Engage is positive, almost a little bit preachy at times. I don't know about their new stuff, but the original singer (Jesse Leach) was one of those socially conscious Christians and it showed heavily in his lyrics.

Thrice is pretty good, not that heavy, though, and a little pop-ish. Likewise, Disturbed has actually been known to write some positive lyrics, if you want to sift through every song they've written. Their debut album is generally not considered to be positive, and neither is their new CD. Musically, they are more in the vein of Linkin Park but heavier.

I could probably think of more. I like heavy music, but you're right, it is hard to find positive lyrics in the mainstream (and I'm using the word 'mainstream' pretty broadly).

Hey, maybe you mean only music recording lately or bands active today...
Well, you must go to rock instead of heavy metal... cause pure heavy metal is always angry and negative, it's just meant to be this way. Like Metallica.

Green day? yeah they're quite punk not so punk, they're basically rock. U2 sometimes, Lenny Kravitz, Jet, The Darkness...
