I'm reading all this stuff about law of attraction, and louise hay's book, and I'm wondering --- is it okay to cry? I mean is that considered a low vibrational energy and we shouldn't cry? Sometimes I just feel so incredibly relieved when I cry, like a big weight has been lifted off of me... but then if you cry are you at a low vibrational energy?

Crying is great! I love to cry, especially in the shower. Haven't done it for awhile. Need to go rent "The Joy Luck Club." No, it doesn't lower your vibration! You are right, it can be a wonderful release, and it cleans you out, like having an orgasm. I think what lowers your vibration is repressing your tears.

Lately I've been crying a lot because I'm processing a lot of deep regret, and just things I feel deeply sad about but I haven't let myself feel sad because it's a low vibration, but I just realized I really feel like I just need to cry to let the grief out and just express it, because I just haven't been able to get past these regrets any other way. Alrighty, if crying's okay, I think I have 4 years worth of repressed sobbing in me... It's gonna be a long night...

Yes! Oh for the love of everything, Yes! :P Crying is a great release and allows your body to get rid of the low vibrations built up inside. Whatever you resist persists, and if you are just resisting crying then the sadness causing it will persist, and that's what's really causing the low vibrations. If you can lovingly cry over something to release grief, then it's a high energy action, rather that a low energy one. You will find your vibration raised rather than diminished often afterwards. The important thing is that there's huge a difference between feeling sorry for yourself versus crying to release sadness inside. If you really feel like you are opening up and afterwards there's a sense of relief and peace then crying has done it's job properly. If you still feel like crap, then you could be holding onto the low energy and haven't let it go yet. I'm a guy that loves to cry when I need to, which isn't very often thankfully.

Crying releases trapped emotional energy. It's necessary, without exception. The world will not come crashing down on you just because author says so. I promise! It's ok!

Yep, it's all right to cry. I remember reading years ago that tears brought about by different emotions have different chemical makeups.* That made it so clear to me that crying clears out our "stuff" - it's a great release. * and crying makes that makeup run. tee-hee

Crying can be anywhere on the vibrational scale and so can laughing. We can cry or laugh out of love or out of fear, from grief or joy. Someone once said crying is the release valve in God's creation of us, like all the other releases we can experience. Sex, laughing, screaming, shouting, anytime our emotions and our bodies unite and let go in the expression of what is overwhelming to the mind only.

Crying can be so healing. Just let the tears flow. Alison
