| So say, I'm in a situation where I am at point A and want to get to point B, and I realize that there's certain fears that I have surrounding point B. So instead of negating and denying that I ahve these fears, I am truthful to myself and say, "I have such and such fear around point B, and I'm not sure what to do about it." At what point do I try to change the belief? Is my question clear? |

| The belief doesn't do you any good, get rid of it. When you know the exactly sensation of the fear in your chest and/or the thought in your head let it go and trust that it will be destroyed (maybe I should say have faith rather than trust... Personally I ask for it's destruction).

In one of Tolle's books I read the phrase, " I am more than the bridge between the past and the future." Which for me means thinking about the past and feeling old programed emotions while looking at the future and still feeling the old programmed emotions. This kind of thinking and living outside of the now moment just invites insanity for me. Another author Earnie Larson, wrote that "Think, feel, act" equals guaranteed stuck in the past while "Think, act feel" equals recovery. When I feel the feeling before taking action I am often persuaded by the emotion which arose about the thought about taking action from ever taking the action without regard to how beneficial said action might be for me, so it becomes a circle think, feel, think, feel, think, feel unto infinity with no action or action subtly sabotaged. Thinking, planing and doing in this moment NOW does work for me. As I live in this moment consciously without one foot in the past and the other foot in the future I live now giving up the unwanted job of being the bridge from the past to the future and I live a life of conscious choice. I wish you a happy journey from point A to Point B if that is the journey you wish to make. Last edited by Gene : 07-11-2008 at 11:42 AM. Reason: typing mistake |
